Nope. Cape Buffalo and Honey Badger two species in addition to those listed above. That means we know 11 of the 12 species.
No, they are separate species. We have twelve confirmed by Michal from Nine Rocks Games.
As others have stated they are
1 - Black Wildebeest
2 - Blue wildebeest
3 - Cape buffalo
4 - Egyptian Goose
5 - Gemsbok (oryx
6 - Greater Kudu
7 - Honey Badgers
8 - Lions
9 - Spotted Hyena
10 -Springbok
11 -Warthog
12 - is undisclosed as far as I can tell.
But you took the time to make your post look good, so you win ;)
Very good. Cape buffalo is great and honey badger is funny. One species is still missing.
Guinea fowl? Cape rabbit? Jackal? Impala? I guess one of them is. ,-)
For my part I am fine with anything as long as it's not red deer. We do have them but they are invasive species that were introduced to Southern Africa by the European colonials.
I think they want to increase the tension and keep us guessing. As far as I have read now, these are all new species. So I think we can safely rule out the red deer. I wouldn't have expected that from a map of Africa. But thank you for pointing that out. I didn't know that. I have a similarly critical attitude towards invasive species. Personally, I would be happy to see impalas. But let's be surprised. Maybe they still have a trump up their sleeve ... ,-)
Personally, not a fan of unpleasant surprises that I discover after the purchase, when the exchange period has expired. I like to know what I'm getting beforehand. ,-)
Wouldn't have a problem with crocodiles to hunt as long as it is not subject to species protection in the area. I don't find them particularly interesting for hunting, but I would appreciate them as an ambiente species for riparian areas.
Generally a big fan of ambiente animals to give maps even more live. For me the following animals woud be a good fit for an African map: Vultures or Cape eagles and flocks of weaver birds, cattle egrets in the company of grazing animals, crocodiles on the shore. Maybe something like that will come.
The other animal species sound good. Yes, it was pointed out that there would be another predator? If I understood that correctly?
And there will probably be ambiente animals.
I don't know why they took black and blue wildebeest. Probably for promotion or synergy reasons. I don't like these reskin things very much. On the other hand, if they are nicely distributed on the map, it brings a certain variety.
