Can you save and leave anytime?
Hunting Simulator forces you to walk all the way back to a cabin to turn in your kills before leaving otherwise you lose your kills. Then from there you can chose in the menu to return to the lodge where you buy stuff and start your next hunt. In other hunting games I have played you get credit for your kill right there at the kill location and once you are done hunting you can exit to the main menu or wherever you go to choose a new adventure without walking forever.

One thing I love about this game is that you can leave anytime and the game will save exactly where you are on the map. The next time you start, you will be in the very same spot! This is a nice change if you are used to HS2 or COTW.

If for whatever reason you decide not to harvest a dead animal it will still be there upon loading. Otherwise like DYEUZ says all animals are claimed as soon as you harvest them.

Like Misfitsailor says it will save your last location. A great feature when you are opening up the maps. I do sometimes get spawned back to the lodge (possible bug) but 95% of the time I am exactly where I closed the game.

The only time you are forced to go back to a cabin is to restock ammo. The main lodge is the only lodge that allows it though. You can however spawn a vehicle at lodges to restock or change weapons. On Alaska you have many sign posts to also do this.

After you shot something, you either sell it ( to get cash ) of taxidermize it ( which cost nothing for now. Until you want to display it in the lodge. Then you pay for it ).

Hope this helps.

You obviously misunderstood my question

That still doesn't answer if you are forced to walk all the back to a cabin but at least I know I can just save whenever without losing my kills.

Thank you, this answers my question. All I was wanting to know is if I am forced to return to the cabin for any reason and apparently I am not. Hunting Sim makes you walk all the back to the cabin to turn in your kills before you are allowed to leave or you lose your kills. So in this game am I to assume you sell in your kills on the spot like with Hunter Call Of The Wild?

Well, take my reply for extra info then. English is not my first language, sorry.

There, edited my first reply.

The edit doesn't help either because others disagree that you can save anytime.

TBH I thought you were talking about your kills also. Sorry I have never played HS. The game saves automatically for you, as soon as you leave it will save your last location and any dead animals that are unclaimed. Most of the time animals are also in exactly the same spot.

The only time you actually need to go to the main lodge is to tax a animal or buy something from the store. Like my other post stated ammo can be restocked with vehicles that can be recalled at other lodges or sign posts in Alaska.

I was talking about kills also, I don't want to have to walk all the way back to a cabin after I claim the kill, in hunting sim if you don't walk all the back to your cabin with your kills you lose the animals. Once at the cabin you chose to tax or sell it. So it sounds like this is no different, you still have to go back to the lodge to the tax or sell the kills. But do you have to walk back to the lodge or chose in the menu return to lodge? I just don't want to do a ton of unnecessary walking.

No sorry, you can harvest and tax a animal as soon as you claim it. No need to go back to lodge. To mount them I should of said, sorry!

You can fast travel at any time to a campsite or lodge. Quick loading so no problem there. There are free jeeps in game to travel somewhere fast also.

For some more clarity.

The game saves in intervals while playing. It also saves when you choose to exit. When you exit, any animals you have killed and not yet claimed will still be there and you will be at the same spot where you exited. You will still need to go to it and claim it or taxidermy it when you restart.

When you claim an animal you can choose to sell it for cash (happens immediately) or taxidermy it. (adds it to a list of animals to be mounted in the lodge) You only pay for taxidermy when you try to mount the trophy at the lodge.

The only other time you will need the lodge is to use the store, (purchasing weapons, callers, etc.)

Sleeping can be done at the Lodge, Cabins, and all campsites.

Ammo and anything you have previously bought from the store can be accessed through the lodge or a vehicle by clicking the back of the vehicle.

Vehicles can be accessed from the lodge and all cabins. Also anywhere else with a large sign with P on it. Click the sign to call your vehicle.

Razamanaz already explained it quite clearly, but to reiterate:

- The game autosaves frequently.
- If you shoot an animal, but don't claim it before quitting, it will still be there the next time you log in. Dead animals DO despawn eventually, but it takes a while. I have seen players report finding animals they shot several in-game days ago.
- Once you interact with an animal you have shot (claim it), you will get the choice to either sell or taxidermy, right then and there, no going back to the lodge required.
- If you choose sell, the carcass will disappear and you will get the money. The kill will show up in your hunting log (pause menu > Character > Hunting Log) with limited information.
- If you choose to taxidermy the animal, the carcass will disappear, you will get no money, and the animal will be added to your taxidermy assistant (pause menu > Character > Taxidermy Assistant), where you will be able to see the full information of the kill, including the bullet cam.
- To display the animal on a mount, you need to return to the lodge, interact with a mount, choose a diorama that fits the animal (e.g. does can only be displayed on certain dioramas of certain mounts). You will then be given the choice of which animals from your taxidermy assistant you wish to display there. At this point, the game will charge you money for the taxidermy.
- Sleeping to advance time can also be done via campsites and cabins throughout the map.
- Changing gear and stocking up on ammo (free, no in-game money required) can also be done at the trunk of the car.
