You'll receive the crossbow Apex Predator after completing the whole story. Crossbow Harpe WonderHit is free for all, can be found in the shop.
Oh, that's a pity. Guess i'll never get it then. Thanks for clarifying anyway.
A crossbow is included in the base game without you having to buy the Alska DLC. A second one can only be obtained via the DLC.
Yep, it’s how they roll. Many players clearly told them, even before the release of the game, that they don’t want to play any story mode, just hunt. So what do the developers do? They lock a weapon behind the DLC story, the WHOLE story. So unless players buy the DLC and then WORK through the story they won’t be able to use a weapon… Just another brilliant move. xD
Going to count this as an L...
I'm not a big fan of grinding through the story. I do them, but usually one or two at a time, then move on to free hunting. I'm all for there being a perk to completing the story, but the only level 6 crossbow in the game is a pretty big ticket item. It should not be locked behind completing the story.
Yeah, I also think this game is all right, but they are messing things big time, making really bad choices. Until recently I was intent on writing an overall positive review of the game (recommending it), but now I am not sure and will wait a little bit more.
The way I see it, it seems they are either deaf and blind to what people write on the Steam forums and just listen to certain people on discord (you can find them here making personal attacks and degrading comments with those they disagree with), or they are intentionally pushing an ideology. Given that they have pretty much shown that they think of men and women as being the same and also using political terms as “safe space” and such I wouldn’t be surprised if they were pushing an ideology. Virtually all traditional male hobbies and activities have been subverted by ideologues to accommodate a minority of women who partake in them, so I guess it is unrealistic to expect hunting games to be exempt.
Dear Armus, it's alright that people have different opinions about things. We at NRG value constructive criticism and we really do try to listen and implement every and all relevant suggestions that players here propose - see, so far, as requested, we added colorblind options, FOV slider, tweaked audio ambient level, added new firearms, lone deer and more. And there are many ongoing tweaks and newly expected features that we hoped you guys will like.
I am sorry that you feel offended by adding the female character, believe me, that was not our intension. We are listening to all this feedback here and we're discussing this issue in our team.
BTW. Would you mind to find me the thread where we personally attacked someone and degraded their comment? I'd want to see what happened, since I can't find anything like that.
Thank you for bearing with us!
Dear Miriam, you misunderstand, I didn’t mean to say that any of the developers made personal attacks and degrading comments, I was referring to certain players who did that. Just to be clear, so far I think the developers interactions were quite fair.
I know you do listen to at least some of the input and I appreciate your recent efforts to be more active on the Steam forums. Some of the changes you already made and plan to do, are very welcome as well. My critics lie mainly in a seemingly poor understanding of your target audience. I guess in many things you simply follow trends, but I hope that you can see how many long standing franchises are being destroyed by extremely poor decisions from their developers. I hope you’ll do better.
I am all for including the chance for both genders to play with their matching in-game character, but this is not the way to do it.
I am not offended that you added a woman as the main and only playable character for a map (which I was really looking forward to), but I am disappointed. Believe it or not, I am on my very best behavior on these forums. If I were to get offended you’d know it.
