I can not decide. .308, .338 or .350

Need some more input about these guns, reaching the money for the monobloc .308 now but i am not shure.

For tier 6 i have the SM12 now and its a very good gun, but i only have the .243 Remignton for tier 5, which is somewhat weak in my eyes, thats the reason for my idea with the .308.

Any suggestions?

The Steyer Monoblock is my main weapon, it is precise and you can easily shoot tier 6 animals like red deer and bears with it. On this page you can see the animals and with which weapon they can be killed at a distance of up to 300 meters.

Personally, I change all of the weapons all the time. Even to the weakest ones. I don't like monotony. I can't imagine playing all the time with just two weapons.

Perhaps take also a look at my rifle table where also bullet weigh is listet.
Its not all about energy (joule) ;-) A heavier as well as a bigger bullet do more damage.

Than i noticed when switching from Hunter mode into Ranger mode i stepped up with calibers to get more instant kills or short track distance because this is still a pain in the ass at this level.

to your question i went with the .270 (yes its ugly and i hope we get a bolt action Steyr in that caliber !). This caliber drives a lot of energy on a flat ballistic curve and is accurate nearly like the .308. The .308 is only such accurtae because its the latest Steyr design ;-) Otherwise it drives a more heavier bullet compared to the .270 and does more dmage but also looses energy quicker in the animal ;-)
So, if you go for long distance shot 150+ i would take the .270 in favour for the .308.
The 30-06 drives even more energy and a heavy bullet like the .308 but its not such accurate; i use it up to 100-150m max. Biggest pro for the 30-06 is its sound ! The .270 as well as .308 sounds flat since last patch :-(

The .350 is a mixed bag but i use its high energy loss at distance to shoot Tier5 animals at 150m without loosing a star as well as Tier6 animals up too 100m without to much track distance .....see link above.

.338 Lapua, .350 Rem Mag relate to class 6 animals while .308 Win relates to class 5. I would say it depends on what exactly you want to hunt :)

In theory you can shoot with the .308 class 6 too, but I would not recommend it. I prefer to shoot the ".300 Win Mag" for class 6 animals and "7 mm-08 Rem" for class 5.

the .350Mag looses much energy over distance which you can use to shoot Tier5 without loosing a star. And for Tier6 its good up to about 120m .
the .270 is my favourite in Tier5 but would like to have one in bolt action !

Thanks all,i have the .308 now and it seems good for Tier 5 like Mule deer and whitetails...next one will be something for Tier 3.

For tier 3 Old grandpa rifle recommended. If you want something new, .223 is good too.

Hoping they add a .303 Enfield one day but until then, I've used their .308 and the .350 and in terms of success I don't see a difference. I find the .350 has more sway but it's not a game changer when you take the shot.
