MODS SUPPORT

Mods in cotw are not welcome, until the point some players have been banned from their forums only for talking about it.
I really hope this new game supports mod and modders.

I just joined their official discord and read through the faq section and they did comment on mods and sounds like they are not gonna support mods. Have a look at their discord to get their exact wording on the subject.

Well that's a bummer. Mods will always do far more for a game than it takes away.

Just look at the Arma series or Farm Sim or ETS/ATS. Tons of people still buy the DLC's yet mods alone bring so much more to entice buyers. I bought Xcom2 just because of the Long War mod and after 700 hrs have still never played the original story in Arma3, with all the modded scenarios available. But yet still bought every DLC up until I quit playing it.

the only game were i play mods is ETS2 and ATS2 but these 2 live from the modder community and they are very easy to switch on and off ingame by support of the devs ;-)

all other games i dont like it.

Developers are silly when they refuse to add the ability to mod. Some even go as far as to ban them, which just gives them bad publicity. Mods only help a game, as is proven over and over again by games that fully support it like the Elder Scrolls series, Halflife and it's spinoffs which started as mods, Doom, The Witcher, etc and they all sold millions of copies over the years. They just add longevity and allow customers to modify the game to their liking.

Grand Prix Legends would have died 20 years ago without mods. With mods it's still going strong.

most devs are afraid of their own made bugs and flaws and dont want to deal with others too :-)
But a mod for this unrealistic scope sight and zooming i would definately use !

Like it or not, WOTH is now competing with a game that has unofficial mod support. While many mods currently available are pure cheats, or are useless, some are good and improve the gameplay. When I'll be judging whether to purchase WOTH or not I'll compare it to a modded COTW.

Mods that changes equipment (different weights, performance etc.), graphics effects, animal variety, animal numbers and so on. I only use three custom made reticles for scopes and a mod that makes all ammunition fit all classes, so that I can freely choose what to use for what. This allows me to shoot more accurately (thanks to better reticles) and to overcome some performance limitations of the default game projectiles (I can use a 420 gr arrow on animals where the 300 gr arrow fails to perform satisfactorily, without losing the integrity score).
