Duck caller not working?
Title, tried to use a duck caller at 200m nothing, tried 150, nothing, 100m, 50m, 38m and still nothing and 38 was the closest I could get before they flew off, am I missing something, does it just convince them to land in the area instead of waddle over orr?

Works like a charm in the areas I am using it for the Wild Ducks, they come in beautifully. Did you use it correctly, if you use it incorrectly they wont land and will react to blowing it wrong and fly off.

How do you use it correctly?

The duck caller doesnt CALL ducks... per say.
None of the callers do.

Think of it more like a beckon/summon whats already there closer...

Also, for ducks, ive found it works best if the duck is already in the water.
Flying ducks will land where the flock lands.
Ducks on land will typically ignore as they will probably be feeding/resting in a need zone.
But ducks on the water will happily scoot around and check you out with a few honks.

Also found you have to be really within 50m.
100-150m too far for a duck. Shotguns are only 25-50m max anyways... unless youre duck shooting with the .22LR :P

I was with in 38m of the ducks and they were in the water, it didn't call them over, I use the deer caller just fine, they will just walk on over but ducks seem to just ignore it.

you say it works like a charm so what does it do for you, do the ducks waddle over to you or just land near you or??

When you hold a Caller in front of you, a meter will appear on the bottom of the screen indicating what kind of animal you’re calling, the odds of it hearing and listening to you, and an action bar. The pointer on the action bar starts at the far side of the bar and slowly moves toward the white part in the center. You need to wait and watch your prey as the pointer moves, and when the arrow is dead center on the white part, click the left mouse button to use the call.

If you got it right, as you keep calling to them, they’ll get curious and start moving your way. Once they’re close enough, switch to your favorite rifle and seal the deal.

This is how I use the callers and this is how I have them come to me.

**Be warned, if you blow too often, they will just move away or fly off.

You can't just blow it and hope the animals come near you.

Question though: why is there a moving arrow on a bar at the bottom while "arming" any caller ???

I see the meter but I thought the meter was a time thing since it doesn't move until the first call/usage of the caller. Not sure I've seen a yellow meter

Blow again when it's in the center. (white) Just as @jf3000 described. It tells you this in the Encyclopedia.
