Even when it isn't that small.
If you don't try to go for the '' air bubbles '' shot, you are in for a lot of frustration.
Like Bjøn said, they will heal & survive.
This is a good point. I still always follow the red blood, and often I find the herd not far from where it stopped. Sometimes they don't run very far.
If they're still in the zone they're supposed to be in when the panic stops, they probably just stay there, if all alarm bells and whistles are reset.
You can see both shots in the bullet cam for the animals you shoot twice, btw. Nice touch.
I had it say this before and it turned out to be an artery shot. The animal died around 100yrds away from the shot. I generally don't chase bad shots, but I've gotten into the habbit of at least investigating them.
Yes, I don't like taking long shots. I get too eager. This game is a good teacher of patience.
No offense please, but i think it's a fact: "small amount, p i n k and clear" indicates an artery shot that leads to the animals death. The devil is often in the details. :) Please correct me if i'm wrong...
Pink is lung. It was "Small amout of blood." Impurities: Clear and yet, yeah dead from an artery neck shot.
Pink WITH BUBBLES is lung.
Pink with clear is indeed something else. I think artery is correct.
Yes, Pink is "heart, lungs and artery" according to WOTH wiki. So you could be right, we both could be right. I personaly think of a lung shot only if blood is "bubbly". I have to tell you, the more i play this game, the more i research, the more confused i get about the exact mechanics... :)
For me it seems if it is small amounts, it seems you must have botched the shot and probably wasn't fatal. Normally for me if it is small I'd cut my losses and just go look else where, but I decided to follow the blood trail once and it lead me to the herd and was able to shoot that same buck (mainly did it for a quest) and during the after action report it showed that I shot it twice.
I think even when far away I can maybe make out through the scope was kind of blood (at least the size of the blood splatter on the ground) I have and that can determine maybe what I have - but a lot of the times when I first take the shot I look and kind of mark where the animal took off too, sometimes you can even see if go down if you are on a hill or have a good overwatch area.
