PS5 controller left stick drift
Similar to other stick drift issues I've seen posted here, but this time for the ps5 controller rather than xbox or switch: when I move the left stick and leave it back at rest, the game will sometimes seem to get too sensitive and read an up-tilt until I move the stick again.

Enabling Steam Input and relying on the default mapping provided therein didn't fix the issue, and I'm not seeing any calibration settings for stick sensitivity...Please advise. Thanks!

Huuuuh. It was connected via cable before, but after connecting via bluetooth, I wasn't getting any of the drift after a few minutes of letting the game run (I'd normally run into the issue within a few minutes). I'll stick to my bluetooth connection for now, and will post again if the drift occurs via bluetooth. Thanks!!!!

Hey VertigoCharades,

We're sorry to hear you're having this issue with the controls.

Did you try the following steps in the Steam Input? If you haven't tried these exactly please do give them a go!

Firstly, please unplug your controller. Then attempt the following:
  1. Launch the Steam client
  2. Click Steam in the top-left of the client > Settings > Controller and make sure the  'Enable Steam input for "Playstation/Xbox/Switch Pro/Generic" options etc are all toggled on as needed.
  3. Then simply plug your controller back in and retest the game
Please make sure your Input Controller Settings are set correctly also, these steps are the same but in two different areas - we like to check that both are enabled to be sure:
  1. Launch the Steam client and select View in the top-left of the client and select Big Picture Mode
  2. Go to Settings in the top-right of Big Picture Mode > select the Controller tab on the left-hand panel and make sure the  'Enable Steam input for "Playstation/Xbox/Switch Pro/Generic" options etc are all toggled on as needed.
Get back to us when you can.

I checked via both methods given to me, and the Playstation controller option is enabled for games without support. Conscript supports the controller, but even when i DO enable Steam Input for the game, so that the controller is fed back to the game as an Xbox/generic controller, the drift still occurs.

Hi VertigoCharades,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Can you please confirm for us whether or not your controller is connected via a cable or Bluetooth?
Can you please if possible try the alternate to what you're currently using to see if this helps at all?

If you have any other controllers, joysticks, wheels, pedals, etc plugged in or connected in any way even if turned off can you please disconnect/unplug these also and test the issue?

Get back to us when you can!

Regards,
Team17 Support
