I never sold the gems on my first playthrough, oops.

In hindsight, the description of them being useful to someone else was referring to the shopkeeper, but I thought there might have been some quest at the end of the game with a character that wanted them.

Yeah I prefer when the game just says "Valuable. Can be sold" etc. Leaving it vague sounds like an optional quest item or something

I thought that at first too, but by the end there is so many of them (esp the gems) that I figured it was just there for money.

....I still held on to them until the last fight though. Even maxed out my item box, LOL
