Honestly the game is doing well but it need more publicity from youtubers and streamers. Reaching them will help you by a lot. Also vtubers, people underestimate how much these have influences.
Your work has great potential and stopping now would be a mistake to be honest. Just like for Signalis the game has a great base in term of the engine. The mechanics could be improved a little bit in terms of additions but the base is pretty solid.
Honestly you could make a WW2 and Vietnam / Cold war game easily.
You have the writer mindset, i've read lot of things and you have that in you. You have what it takes to make games about wars and their aspects.
For ww1 you could focus on the medics side of things, the christmass truce, ...
For example for ww2 you could work on the resistance and british sabotages. Adding tensions with civilians lives and prison camps. Kinda like in the game ''the saboteur''.
For vietnam you could work on the effect of ptsd, drugs, delusion linked to warfare adapatation and public views
If you want we could talk on discord, who knows i might give you ideas/concepts for DLCs or new games. Sometimes the feedback from a outsider helps a lot.
