Issue Landing with the Zipline

I placed my first pole up on the 2nd deck, then my 2nd pole on a platform. I cannot place it on the front of the platform - that is too near. I can place it on the back. When I zipline, I am invariably thrown off of the side of that platform, as if I am too mentally challenged to put my feet down WHEN I reach the pole, rather than AFTERWARD.

Can you please readjust the intelligence level of my person to at least a vegetative state?

Okay, I finally managed to get it on the ledge in the middle of the platform.
