companion wants to speak in private. what areas are classified as private?

to begin, i will mention that i have indeed tried searching for an answer to this in the search bar. however, it seems no one has asked this question yet so i am making this post. if someone has asked this before, do not flame me for being unable to find it because i tried looking.

now, onto my issue. i'm new to the game and im only lvl 15. i just took the shuttle to the republic fleet and i got the tool tip describing companion interactions. i noticed that T7 wants to talk with me, but i can only do so "in private".

where do i go to talk to him? will i eventually get quarters, which are obviously private? or are there other areas that are considered private?

thank you. and once again, do not flame me for being unable to find an answer to this, and then not answer my question at all. that isn't helpful in the slightest.

Cantinas (also the central area of the Fleet), strongholds, and eventually your ship are private areas.

IIRC anything designated as a rest area are private, as well as your Stronghold and personal ship.

I noticed that you don't have all the options for conversation in the stronghold. and you have to talk to the npcs on the ship. This is very annoying when you have multiple characters.

I have 4 characters all between lv 35-37 and I have to check every now and then to see if I have dialogue in the stronghold and on the ship.

Does anyone know if you have all the dialogue on the ship so you don't have to go to the stronghold?

You can do all companion conversations on the personal starship. You don't have to go to the stronghold at all. The companion portrait also shows if the next dialogue requires the personal starship (there's a little ship icon) or just any cantina.
