This game is at least a year from shutting down
I don't think they care about making a good end game. They just know how to make story content. Story content isn't good enough to save this game. It needs something more.

That may have been true if it hadn't been handed over to Broadsword. There may be little to no updates, but SWTOR's servers won't be shutting down anytime too soon.

Doubtful, if at all it will be shut down. Broadsword still manages DAoC, which is like 23 years old now. This game has another decade at least before that might even happen.

I've been hearing it been shutting down for over a decade now. However it's been handled by Broadsword now so it will now be on endless lifesupport.

SWTOR is still printing money. Not as much as earlier times, but it's still making millions every year. And it gets a big boost in sales whenever big Star Wars product is released (tv shows, movies, video games, etc.). You can see this in Steam charts, activity doubles or triples after a popular Star Wars product comes out.

any content EA had ordered just before handing it over is likely to be developed out. the chances are that the LotS storyline will conclude and at that point it will be left on life support until it's no longer profitable to maintain the game on the cloud servers.

i'm hoping beyond hope that Jadus comes back before it all ends, his character just up and disappeared at the the end of chapter 1 and start of chapter 2 in the Imperial Agent storyline, and he either escaped or left on purpose. I'm hoping this quest of Malgus' is one orchestrated by Jadus and Malgus is his servant. Remember how Jadus used implants to control his servants when you met him in his chamber? he could have refined the technology and implanted into Malgus through an agent while Malgus was being rebuilt, the implant is something not even Malgus can get past it,

just because you stopped hearing it don't mean it isn't true. i already had one user block me out here because they didn't want to hear it and it turned out to be true in the end. all things will eventually end, it's not 'if' but rather 'when'.

Warning signs were present the end of 2019 and since then it has gotten worse as it went along. now here we are in 2024 and everyone has come to the realisation there might be a little content left but the game is dying after all. it was bound to happen at some point.

You expecting updates? This company just looks for Dead games.

Yeah fans ready to buy some yellow/red/black trouses.
But why these money is not spending for further development????????????????
Still so many bugs, ♥♥♥♥ engine, horrible end game.... But HEY FOLKS LOOK - NEW LIGHTSABDER FROM DARTH DODO

lol Broadsword runs it now. If they can keep Dark age of camelot running 20 years past its prime in a skeleton crew playerbase, then your post looks stupid. Especially since this game still has a really average to good size community that is still getting updates. Shut up people have been saying this game is dying since a year after its launch.

Not so clever when this "when" prediction is every year. It will obviously shut down one day, but none of these players get to say "I told you so" after over a decade of saying the same thing. Saying SWTOR is shutting down is like saying "I'm going to die!" after already having lived a full life into the twilight years.

i only started predicting the downfall correctly at the end of 2019 and certainly not over a decade. you know what to look for when you see it.

When LotS was delayed and the lack of content since then, limited to what? 3 missions a year compared to all the previous years, it was clear EA was withdrawing support for SWTOR. The writing was already on the wall. with EA transferring the game out to a 3rd party at that point EA just wanted to get rid of it because it no longer served their purposes.

as hard as it is to see it, but the decision was made probably in 2018 to wind it down and move on to other projects. Bioware team was clearly needed to put out Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and the next Mass Effect game on the market.

And? "Death of a Game: SWTOR" was made in 2017:

It would have actually been impressive if you'd predicted it was going to be handed over to another developer to instead be put on long-term life support, but that was never a prediction.

No one is nitpicking anything. If you think the game was to be shut down, yet it wasn't, then you were incorrect.

And how did you come to this conclusion, please tell. People have been doom and glooming that SWTOR will be dead like 7 years ago. Yet it is still here, how strange.
