How do subscription work?

I played this years ago for a few months and had a sub. Back then, if you bought a sub you essentially kept access to all content up to the patch you subbed as. So if you did not sub and they added some new quests and areas you would not have that unless you subbed again.

Is that how it still works? My understanding this game is more or less finished so if it DOES then what does a sub give? I remember I had a credit cap. Can a sub use the 1 month coins thing to remove that?

Same as it was then. Game still gets content its just slow and you cant remove the credit cap but you can get access to artifact equipment and the ability to hide head slots and unify dye to chest with coins. Some other junk you can get with coins are character slots and legacy abilities.

it never worked like that. i mean *partially* it did.

by buying 1 month of subscription, you get access to all story content existing in the game at the moment, or released later in that expansion (or main version of the game), and you can access them even after your subscription lapsed, both on existing and new characters, on any server

so, we are in "The Legacy of the Sith" expansion, which is version 7.* of the game. they released the initial 7.0 version back in Feb 2022, with some story content. later on they released new story parts, with 7.1, 7.2 and so on, and even if your subscription lapsed in March 2022, you got access to them.

basically, until version 8.0 of the game hits, you get access to all story updates and areas, planets, whatever, even if you are not a subscriber (I mean, if your last subscription lapsed after Feb 2022)

this of course isn't true for raids, simply because participating in raids require a subscription
