Cartel Market only - Cathar, Togruta, Nautolan
They cost 600 cartel coins each. Whether you are a free player or a subscriber, the only way to get them is to pay the cartel coins. These unlocks are account wide, so if you unlock one, you can create characters with that species on any server.

For the rest of them (Zabrak, Twi'lek, Miraluka, Mirialan, Sith Pureblood, Rattataki, Chiss), free players can pay 600 cartel coins each to unlock them, but these unlocks are only legacy wide (only available on the server you unlock them on), so it's not really worth it. Usually, the best way to unlock them is just to subscribe 1 month, create 1 character of each species (7 characters total) and then level them at your own pace. Even if your subscription ends before you unlock the species, you can still play already-created characters. Once the character gets to level 50, you unlock that species legacy wide for free and can create new ones without having to subscribe.

Here are the species available to each Origin Story as a subscriber. Once a species is unlocked legacy wide it becomes available for every Origin Story.
