Guess what, devs? The characters still look cartoonish, just older.
They don't in my view and on my computer, no not even the Chiss.
Stop over exaggerating just because you don't like the new, and granted possibly AI assisted and therefore somewhat suspect art direction for a game that might as well be left to die but instead gets some nice GFX upgrades not everyone likes.
Again, it doesn't for me. It enhances it in every way so far that I have seen, and I've been around.
You just don't like it and have to use hyperbole so your opinion doesn't fall apart.
Now you are really just reaching. That's the nitpick you found for a random NPC? That it doesn't look "military" enough anymore in a game with plenty of goofy NPCs even before the gfx changes?
Come on.
In the end it's all opinion of course, but you state yours like facts and they simply aren't.
So apparently only your opinion counts and if someone is voicing his opinion about something completely subjective like an art style, he is automatically a white knighting corporation loser eating ass?
Can't really argue with that impeccable logic.
Broadsword hasn't had it long enough, what you're seeing is still Bioware stuff, not to mention the current staff for the game is the Bioware people that transferred over.
Overall, I agree with your sentiment, but wanted to mention nonetheless that Lt. Xorem changed his style already several years ago. No one knows why that change was made back then, but I remember people wondering about it.
All they had to do was continue the formula they had in 4.0 and just keep adding content to the game.
The brown-yellow "mess" gave the area character and atmosphere of a toxic world. Now its just a generic grey blob with a overbloomed sun.
Their current art team sucks and they just need to leave the games visuals alone. They keep making things worse with their art designs. The UI is the biggest culprit of an art team that is completely clueless. They ruined a really good looking UI for this bland "modern minimalist" design with colors that don't match the old UI and clash in places they haven't changed or probably can't change.
This might come as a surprise to you, but people that dont like the same thing you dont like tend to get put off when you list ridiculous examples/reasons for believing as such. There's no need to jump to embarrassing conclusions like
Unfortunately, disagreements tend to happen when opinions differ.
