Also, you could have easily disabled Bitraider from your original game via editing your launcher.settings file, and it would install the full game to your computer, instead of streaming it.
Whats the story on Bitraider? What does it do? Why do people not like it? Genuinely wondering.
Bitraider is a sub-software within the SWTOR folder that allowed only the essential files to be installed onto your computer, while you are streaming 70% of the actual game. The game used to be a full install way back when, and then the Devs decided they wanted to switch the game to streaming as a standard install, to help save space on player computers as well as allow you to play the game, while it is performing a patch update.
This was a cause of major negative feedback because the game played via stream, ran slower, had lag issues, and took a lot longer to update and patch the game. Players could also not play some of their characters because the game was patching in the background.
Players who wanted to fix those issues, had to manually disable Bitraider via editing one of the startup files, which forced the Launcher.exe program to automatically download the entire full game to their computer.
That's not entirely true, I've reached up to 20-25 MBps (not Mbps) when patching while having Bitraider disabled. Normally it's a steady 10-15 MB/ps download on the files for me. I finish patching within a minute 90% of the time.
Just make sure you copy all of your game settings and GUI settings from your older SWTOR folder to your new Steam SWTOR folder so you don't have to configure everything again from scratch.
