An Error has occurred. Please exit and restart the Launcher

i just installed the game from steam, which was only 57 mbs btw, and when i start the launcher, the error in the tile pops up. i cant log in because the launcher does not let me in.

I had the same issue as well. I've tried to restart Steam, uninstall and install again, remove files manually.

This error shows up immediately upon launching the game from Steam. And just to confirm it is not happening on just "my" computer, i launched this in GeForce Now and the same issue occured for me there. Which is odd.

Anyone else?

I solved it for me by downloading this file: http://cdn-patch.swtor.com/patch/LauncherRepairUtilityD2020.0.6.exe

Download and run the Launcher Repair Utility to find and replace any files that may be causing problems:

Close the SW:TOR launcher.
Download the launcher repair file from the link.
When you’re asked, choose to Save the file.
Copy or move the downloaded file to your SW:TOR game folder.
Once you’ve copied the file, double-click on it to run it.
Choose Install, and let it run.
When it’s finished running, it opens the launcher. Try logging in and patching again.

Hi, in time stopped the SWTOR-Launcher by 77% from the first datapack 1. Restart the launcher not working, too.

I've had similiar problem which was fixed by going to list of installed applications in Windows and next to every Microsoft Redistribuable entry click Modify -> Repair. After this game started without any problems.
