Monthly paid? ♥♥♥♥ off.
Normalize paying one time only for MMORPG's again.

well in the past MMO's were all pay per month.. so... how can they make them one time pay... when they were never really one time pay games?
Tintel Jul 21, 2020 @ 9:05am
The base game is literally free...
Solus zos Galvus Jul 21, 2020 @ 9:08am
you have like 200hrs of content for free
quiIl Jul 21, 2020 @ 9:13am
You can play completely free, and a single month's subscription will give you permanent access to all of the expansion's content. You essentially can treat the game as a once-paid game of $15.

The only time you would need to resubscribe is with a new story update.

mmo's are and we're rarely ever a one time payment
so yeah , ..... dont like like that

Final Fantasy XIV and WOW says hi...
Also this game was pay to play first. And they just kept that after going free as a ViP option.
Same with Elder Scrolls Online. From Monthly to buy to play + Vip.

swtor has one of the best f2p models in the market lmao
Walmont Jul 21, 2020 @ 9:28am
If you get the month sub once, you get preferred status + all the expansions till the last forever.
Reksel Jul 21, 2020 @ 9:33am
NO MMOs offer a complete "F2P" or "B2P" experience. Any B2P games also includes microtransactions to upkeep servers, and they sometimes even offer VIP status (Subscription)

FFXIV & WoW are still subscription based, while GW2, ESO, BDO, etc are B2P with a store.

You get most likely 500+ hrs of content if you go through all of the class stories. Before it came to steam today, I've easily earned at least 3000+ hrs and had fun every step of the way

the base game + the first TWO expansions are free and if you pay a sub just ONCE and do not renew it you still have access to the rest of the expansion content ♥♥♥♥ off with your petty mentality

I agree, you have to pay for them and sub for them and it seems they are thriving, i guess its just some people want things for free now-a-days.

''Again''? The 1st mmo's, and still most of them, have monthly subs. Eve was one of the 1st. Monthly sub.
''Again''.... On what planet were you living?

You get a massive amount of high-quality content for free, and can get even more forever if you subscribe just once. What more could you be asking for, almost every other MMO uses a monthly subscription, whilst not offering nearly as much free content

If you remove the subscription and microtransactions for the parts of the game you want, they have no incentive to keep adding things. Publishers aren't your friends and won't pay their developers in the name of making art. There's also the case that if it's a one off payment they would just shut the servers off when it's no longer profitable. And let's face it, this is EA we're talking about, when it stops being profitable they might pull the plug on Bioware, not just SWTOR.
