GeForce Now - Can I expect to see SWTOR

I played to SWTOR with a monthly subscription but finally give up because my laptop was not enough powerful.

Started to be a daddy and to play less and less, keeping a commuter game up to date is no longer my priority, and above everything I don't like to play with a console controller.

But a (RTX) light at the end of the tunnel... is arrived, GeForce Now.

And now all my money goes only on games who are available.

EA are commonly absent on this platform, like Blizzard, Bethesda and sadly others publisher. A noise from the corridor seemed to tell us that EA had the idea of ​​raising her own cloud platform.

But between Stadia, amazon and cie I think most of all except nvidia misunderstood the needs of people like me. We don't want a catalog, we want something to avoid us to buy every year hardware up to date, with a high electricity consumption, with a mountain of electronics waste...

So this message to encourage you to come, to encourage the leaders to review their strategy. (All of them, not just you or EA).

I'm also a daddy and usually play on my Surface tablet on my couch. I also used to play on a 10 year old DELL laptop with no issues, just on low settings. Game does not require top hardware really to be playable.

I'm in a similar boat as you and also only buy games which are available on the Geforce Now platform. In fact, I was just looking to get this game so I checked the discussion boards and found this thread. I'll keep an eye out incase this gets added to Geforce but for now I'll have to pass.

you can play your games on any laptop, desktop or mobile device. You can run it as a google chrome extension so any device that can run google chrome can run any game you own provided it is allowed to run on Geforce Now.

yea seriously dont know what these publishers are thinking

literally free advertisement + free server hosting by nvidia + exposure and more players could play it if they are on other device , or on imac / macbook / mac pro / mac studio / even apple vision pro ( i love gaming on geforce now with apple vision pro visionOS using that imax size virtual screen for games dont require much fast reflex like turn based game )

apple vision pro is a god send for someone with attention deficit like me

I was unlucky and destroyed my 2 year old gaming laptop, which I had bought for around €1400, because I accidentally plugged my headphones into the USB port and it caused a short circuit.

then I borrowed my brother's laptop, which cost €900. Unfortunately, it also broke after around 1-3 months because when I opened a sauce, some liquid got on the keyboard.

Yes the game you are playing is on Nvidia server. But without the base game housed on the server of the company that makes it there is no game to play. Your statement is a bit flawed.

I really don't understand why SWTOR and other games are not on GFN. Does it cost a bunch of developer time/money to make the game run on GFN and/or to keep it running on GFN?

Like OP, I've stopped playing games that are not available on GFN. Similarly I picked one streaming service and if artist <X> is not on my streaming service then I do without. For both of these I don't want to deal with managing the binary data (music library or games).

Sure, folks who are hardcore PvPers have a good reason to run their game locally just like music audiophiles have a good reason to have records or locally stored digital music but I am neither of these.

I'd love to play SWTOR again but I ain't downloading the game client again. At least Baldur's Gate 3 (which also has great voice acting and story writing) is available on GFN!
