"We can't log you in, Please double-check you're using the Steam account you usually play on and try again." Problem

Some weeks ago, I made a discussion about if I should download swtor on steam, many said yes so I decided to download on steam. When I put my username and password to log in, it says that they can't log me in, and make sure that I'm using the right steam account. Mind you, I put the right username and password in, but i assume that when they say 'make sure to use the right steam account', I think they mean that as if I already used another steam account to link with swtor. I really don't know what that means, and I tried looking online for help but nothing seems to work, any ideas?

Your username/PW should be the same for when you log into the SWTOR website. If you can't log into that, then you are using the wrong login. Even with the steam version, you still have to log in via the SWTOR client. When you log into your swtor account on their website, you will see an area called Steam Link. Make sure that's connected to your account.

If all of that is correct, then you should probably contact their support and see what the issue is. Just an fyi, they don't look at the steam forums, so if you have a technical or account issue, then their swtor website forums are the best place to post this next.

Hey Jolly, I managed to find the old account that I created years ago, and unlinked the steam account from it. After that, I tried to log in again to my newer swtor to the steam launcher of swtor but it still said that same thing, "We can't log you in, Please double-check you're using the Steam account you usually play on and try again." I am just super confused now. I unlinked the steam from the old swtor account, but yet it still says that they can't log me into my newer account. I even tried to log in with my old account and it still said that they can't log me in. I feel like I just don't need to put up with this anymore. I have no idea what to do now.

I’ve already fixed the problem for me. For me, I was already logged into an another account with an email I’ve used years ago. Try to find out if you already have an email linked to your SWTOR account and unlink or delete the account.

I changed my nickname to the one I have in swtor and nothing helped, tell me what to do, create an account with a steam name or what?

This discussion is pretty old and I've haven't played swtor in some time, so I might not be helpful as I was 2 years ago. You have a swtor account created already right? Is it already connected to a email you use the same for your steam account? And also is it linked to your steam account as well? I could try to help you but its best if you made a new discussion on the page so people can see it and help you.
