It's usually advised to pick a stealth class if your first isn't already.
I was thinking about choosing Shadow anyway for other reasons, so if you suggest access to stealth anyway, this helped me with my decision.
the thruth is when they made the game they 1st should have chosen a way better engine
and 2cnd should have just made 3 skill trees for the force classes and 3 skill trees for the tech classes, one basic abilities, one light side and one dark side....
so you could use all weapons you want and the only requirements to get to certain abilities would be char lvl and light side or dark side allignment
if they'd done that the game wouldn't be as dead as it is now and could have actually have a chance to at least run alongside wow
Nothing to do with classes, your Jedi Sage is always going to be a Jedi Sage and that's the only story you'll see no matter what combat style you're using.
All they did was disconnect the combat styles from the classes. When you start out a new character they're locked into choosing from just their factions force or tech styles (depends on if you have a force or tech class). Once you get the other factions rep up to tier 5? than you can choose from the other factions combat styles (so your Jedi Sage could use the Sith Sorcerer lightening etc... attacks).
BUT it's one combat style or the other you'll have separate hotbars and only 1 can be active at a time. Swapping out is done out of combat and if your sub ends you're stuck with what ever hotbar was active at the time.
also, you want to pick the 2nd combat style carfeully, because you can't change it later
It didn't happen until I had already done the bulk of the classes so I saw no reason for it. I just wish there was some marker showing what the classes original combat style was when you create a new character.
I still had sage and knight to do and accidently ended up with the same combat style on them both. I might have gone and done the 2nd style to change the sage to the original sage combat style, haven't played him in a while and can't remember.
Not that I'd have any reason to, but if I ever did create a new spy I'd go with the smugglers or bounty hunters 2 pistols style just cuz I think a imp agent running around with a rifle isn't right.
