Any hope for new playable race?
I know swtor is slowing down its dev for a while...

But would that be so difficult to add new races?

I m thinking about rodian, transdoshans, or wookies... Or duros...
They know how to animate those races since we already meet them as pnj.

It would be a kinda of improvment. It would bring me to start a new game.

Won't happen they would have to do that in every single cutscene for every class it would be playable as, way way too much work

Years ago even Bioware said that any non-humanoid races were out of the question, and that was before the game entered maintenance mode.

We have long since past fundamental additions to the game like races and classes. The best to hope for are additional story expansions and that's just about it.

Races that can't speak basic will never be playable for obvious reasons.

We're unlikely to get any new races as well because it takes a long time to customize the model to prevent clipping and other issues with gear. There's still a ton of problems with the Nautolan's and the Twi'lek's when it comes to gear clipping, mostly through their lekku/head tails.

Duros might work because they can speak Basic. Most of them don't, but it is possible. There's at least one in the game that speaks Basic.

Lol, this game isn't in maintenance mode. It still releases new content and the devs just finished cloud migration and a new server for Australian players. These are features that would NOT exist if the game was in maintenance mode.

The dev team is like 40 people. The updates are 10 minute content updates with expansions being barely an hour long. Its 100% in maintenance mode.

Maintenance mode typically means there is no longer any new content updates or bug fixes. Life support with a drip feed of content ≠ "maintenance mode".

I've played actual MMOs in maintenance mode. The only thing that kept them "alive" until their inevitable shut down was the very small dedicated community of players that held their own events.

Enhanced Maintenance Mode, then. I still have MM MMOs that get the occasional bug fix and update, and what not. But compared to MMOs even run by smallish studios, SWTOR is far from an actively developed game in terns of the new content that we get.

Making up new terms when you're wrong doesn't make you any less wrong. :jawatongue:

Pretending the game is not in maintenance mode wont change the fact that its in maintenance mode. It gets an update once a year. We're two years passed into the current "expansion" with zero mention of anything 8.0 and even if we get an 8.0 update, its going to be barely any content.

Drip fed content that's 10 minutes long once a year is the definition of maintenance mode. The game is basically just being maintained at this point with minimal content being worked on.

7.4 was December 5th. I understand you want to exaggerate the length, because it doesn't quite fit your narrative, but the point is that content is currently in development. If it were in maintenance mode, the only thing "maintained" would be server stability.

The amount of content dictates maintenance mode. DAOC is in maintenance mode, and it still gets small updates. Maintenance mode doesn't mean it gets absolutely nothing done to it at all. SWTOR is in maintenance mode, and it has been for the last 5 years. End of story.

You should've stuck with the "drip fed content that's 10 minutes long once a year" story. At least despite the fact you were wrong about the length of the content, you were right about the yearly larger updates (ignoring the smaller updates every few months). Now it's 5 years that we haven't had a relatively decent update? That's wild, bud.

We might hit 8.0 before they drop the nukes....maybe
