I like the Stability of this game over the newer ones. I'm playing all the types again. It lacks in population but the stories are ok oncemore

it's been sitting around 3-7k players daily for the past 2 years and the game hasn't grown or decreased in population. The content updates take a while and don't offer a lot and the economy is still terrible with horrendous inflation still( from when I played in 2022-2023). Most MMO aspects of the game are regulated to clans and most of the things you do is still solo. I don't see any signs of the this game growing with the current state of things, etc.

It seems like the only Star Wars MMO in the distant future unless something is coming

It will never get big updates like Knights of the Fallen Empire anymore, but they are still releasing about 4 updates a year. Usually, 2 updates are just the season pass called Galactic Seasons. The other 2 are actual story updates but usually not more than an hour of content.

For most players it's a good game to come back to once or twice a year to go through those updates, but it doesn't have enough content to the main MMO for most players. However, for new players there's a ton of content if you get into Star Wars stories. It's probably 200 hours of story to see everything if you don't skip the dialogue, more if you choose to play alts (the 8 origin stories, dark vs light side, male vs female voice acting, etc.).

most people use the og SWTOR launcher and not Steam but that doesn't mean the game is doing very well. A Star Wars MMO should be huge and timeless but it was horribly mismanaged by EAware for a decade

Game-destroying class balance issues aside, I blame the egregious focus on mtx that ultimately obliterated the economy after BW willfully and knowingly released ~5 credit generating exploits that dumped quintillions of illicit credits into the economy, & never did rollbacks, removed items bought with the illicit credits or banned anyone. Even now with all the changes, you're poor until you have at least 4 billion.

That alone is the biggest turn off for new players.

They should have done a full-sweep credit wipe across the board, but they didn't. They should have done several rollbacks, but they didn't.

This game is on it's last legs.

What are you trying to buy that you need 4 billion credits? On Star Forge, even the most fashionable armor sets are barely 700mil now since the more recent GTN update which forces the lowest price listing to be first.

I play the game regularly, and play pretty much, but I don't play via Steam, therefore I can't be seen in Steamcharts
