When is the best time to subscribe + fast leveling?

Do you think I should use my 4 free character slots first and get my 4 characters to level 60 or should I get a subscription now?

I would complete the story with the 4 different classes and get them to level 60 anyway. Only then would I need the subscription to get to level 80. If I activate the subscription now, it would already expire, even though I don't urgently need it.

I started playing SWTOR on February 22, 2024 and all of my 4 characters are only level 43-44. If I had gotten a subscription then, it would have expired over 2 months ago.

But at the moment you get 200% more experience. It would be useful to to unlock with the subscription races (you only get from a subscription) and then level them fast up with the 200% event.

But do you really have to level up quickly? wont you be anyway lv 80, just from doing the main stories?

Used to be subbed but even though playing the game since last year, not going to be subbed for the time being as a preferred account. I can get my characters to level 80, though no OPS (ops are subbed only). Have legacy bank so any extra funds are safe there.

In your case, check your character screen, if it says preferred account then you should be abled to get your characters to level 80 without subbing. If you have a legacy bank, be sure to move extra funds into that bank so your characters does not hit the 1M CR limit.

for about 2€ and got the preferred status. but at the reddit post people said, that the max level is still lv 60 (for people who never had a subscription))

Free to Play (never had a subscription) = Level 60 Cap

Preferred Status (Had a Subscription via monthly, 3 months, or 6 months) = Level 80

Subscription = You get everything.

If you still not sure, while this Star Wars Birthday double xp event going on from May 1st to May 15th, take one of your characters and level it and see it if goes past level 60.

Depends on when you last subbed, I just resubbed for the 60 days for my first time in about 3 years and I was level 75 cap the whole time now level 80 cap, so Single party where people say if you previously subbed ever you'll have level 80 cap it's not quite true

It depends what the max level was when you subbed. If it was below 80 you are stuck there UNTIL you sub again. Then it will remain at 80 until they up the level cap but you will need to sub again at that point to get the increase.

To get preferred status has NOTHING to do with ever having subbed. You get it my making a purchase in the Cartel Market Place. If your account is F2p you will have a limit of 4 characters. Preferred will up that limit to 12 characters, Subbed will give you 26 characters.

Can't you buy a 1 month sub? The way I play this would be more than an XP booster. I play daily and quite a few hours

before a major expansion, so your sub runs out before the next expansion drops
so you don't have to keep being subed for more then 1 month to keep the geargrind rolling at an acceptablle pace
because if you only have the "previous" expansion the game just throws all the good gear at you, so the pace of gearing multiple characters and playing thru all the content is more pleasant and you don't feel like you need to sub
imo you don't want lvl 80 lvl cap, which you get if you sub right now
otherwise if you want to raid or do pvp or play heroic fp's you need to sub and stay subbed anyway

yeah I gotta start linking who I'm replying to this was meant entirely for Aetheogh's reply stating "Preferred Status (Had a Subscription via monthly, 3 months, or 6 months) = Level 80" which is why I said it depends on when you last subbed, being a sub for 1 month 4 years ago isn't automatic level 80 cap which was what they were implying which is false information

It's a good idea to sub one month anyways just to unlock all the expansions. It's $15 to unlock all story content and you can keep playing it after the sub ends. Just make sure to create one character for each species. Then you can level them at your own pace. Once the character is created, you can keep playing it without the sub even if the species is still locked for you. When you eventually get it to 50, you unlock that species for the server.

Human, Cyborg, and Zabrak are already free, so you only need to create a character for Twi'lek, Miraluka, Mirialan, Sith Pureblood, Rattataki, and Chiss.

Here are the species available to each origin story at the beginning:
Jedi Knight - Human, Cyborg, Zabrak, Twi'lek, Miraluka, Mirialan
Jedi Consular - Human, Cyborg, Zabrak, Twi'lek, Miraluka, Mirialan
Trooper - Human, Cyborg, Zabrak, Mirialan
Smuggler - Human, Cyborg, Zabrak, Twi'lek, Mirialan
Sith Warrior - Human, Cyborg, Zabrak, Sith Pureblood
Sith Inquisitor - Human, Cyborg, Zabrak, Sith Pureblood, Rattataki, Twi'lek

Remember to turn off the auto-subscription after, so you don't accidentally subscribe for more months. It's easy to forget after 30 days.

You level fast in this game in general, but if we're talking faster, then it's best to sub during double exp events.

You also get preferred status if you bought anything from the store thus unlock no additional content. Once you subscribed you'll unlock all current content available.
