The story is single player but you can play together an enter each other's story zones. just need two computers and two accounts.

Yes, you can. I play with my partner. The best way to start out would be as jedi/sith as different classes so you can watch and see a different class story line and have your own story, or trooper/bounty hunter/agent/scoundrel so you both start on the same planet but have different class stories. You can join each other in your story phases if you set the "allow others to join active story phase" setting. I forget if it is on by default. My man and I co-op'ed the whole game, including master mode... I did 100% achievements. Only thing you won't be able to do is raids... Which sucks to miss the story, but isn't worth it in the end. I highly recommend you play together and don't do random ques or group with randoms because the community is crazy AF. (Probably best to disable General Chat by right clicking on the chat tab.) Take your time and enjoy the journey together... (The end is tragic. You'll understand when you get there.) If you can get some help (need 4 people, sometimes people will help on fleet, if you have kids, this is the moment they were born for) to start a guild for yourself and your wife (kids optional, honestly if you're dark side then kick them and make them pay a tribute to get in, if you're light side then make them officers), and you can have your own guild and shared guild inventory as well. That way you can have your own guild ship and your own guild buffs and do all the things. Sharing a guild makes keeping track of alts and stuff easier as you manage your shared legacies. Make this your journey together, and I hope you will have as much fun as my partner and I did. Unfortunately, this game isn't what it used to be, so you may face more struggle than fun, but it is your journey to decide how to handle these struggles.

May the Force be with you.

You can do story co-op up through Shadows of Revan expansion. Once you get to Knights of the Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne, the story switches to Personal Phases which only allows the party leader to gain quest credit. You can do them co-op, but it would mean you have to do all the chapters for your character (where you make your choices) and then repeat all the chapters a second time for your wife (so she can make her story choices).
