Tech fragments

Hello,

I looked up a few ways to get them, but it seems they wont work for me.

Can I get them at max level only?

they drop randomly or from breaking down the lvl 80 gear (typically)

I know what it says to do to get them from the swtorist article, but beyond the personal conquest I didn't do any of that and had it max'd by level 75. Since that's the first level point for turning them in for gear ..... you shouldn't have a problem.

Also after I had outfitted my level 80 and played through KotFE/EE I had enough again to outfit my lvl 75 alt.

Yea think you get them from breaking down gear from high lvl lockboxes and opening top lvl lockboxes but cant remember if you need to be 80 or not to collect them.
You also get OP, FP and WZ parts aswell.

Otherwise do your weekly conquest for 500 and weekly quests i think drop them too.

I've gotten them on each of my characters just by doing Conquest goals. They are only on the 20's to 30' level wise.

i think you start getting them at Lv75, maybe a couple of levels sooner

there's a special kind of gearpiece, called "Tactical", which can be used from Lv75 onward, and at the vendor they cost 3000 TF + 1million credits (IIRC). a Lv75 should be able to collect TFs in order to be able to buy these Tacticals

actually, I've just leveled a character from Lv70 to 80 this week by doing Flashpoints, but I cant tell you when the bosses started dropping TFs as reward, but it was 100% under Lv80

They start dropping at level 75+. Random drops of tech fragment bags give 10 each. Flashpoint bosses drop them and you can break down 75+ gear for tech fragments. Also weeklies endgame activities like flashpoints and operations give tech fragments. Mostly works the same at level 80, but dailies and heroics give 30-100 each (mostly 30) so you can rack them up a bit faster. I think the only way you can get them at lower levels is from galactic season rewards.

Thank you all. Ill try breaking down gear, the conquest doesnt reward me with tech fragments at level 32. Guess its a high level thing.

Getting tech fragments is lvl 75 and above. Same with gear that can be deconstructed for tech fragments. It won't drop for lowbees.

Just curious why would you need them at level 32?

Cool, there some decorations you can get as well with them, piles of bones is pretty cool, also once you get to 75 make sure you're in a guild that actually chooses a target planet for the week, that way on reset day tuesday you'll get 300-500 bonus fragments if you got at least your personal 100k done that week before

hit 76 cause then you get conquest commendations as well which you turn in level 80 cap for 324 green gear, oh and one more thing as you're going from 75-80 you'll get gear boxes from your conquests, don't open these, once you're level 80 each box is 50 tech fragments so save em up

Good to know. Guess its really "easy" once you are max level.
