Definitely more than zero

How many players does any MMO have? When you find one that gives out that info, let me know because even Blizzard stopped reporting that info for WoW years ago.

All I can say that there is at least four, since that's the number of accounts our family uses, though one was active only to get our guild formed.

The OSRS homepage shows player count. Currently 127,826 players in-game, despite the fact Steam shows 1,000. At least half of those players are bots though.

Regardless, that somewhat puts things into perspective of how the official browsers of MMOs can potentially have far more players than Steam.

Probably around 1000-5000 recurring. Can only really go by steam charts, and some of those ‘people’ are bots. A few people use the old launcher, where login isn’t tracked. But that’s mostly old people who don’t know how steam works.

My question was: How many players does the game have OUTSIDE of Steam?

I agree.

Do you find many players in the game for any instances or on the map?

Is this game worth in your eyes?

What do you want me to say? I would say there's only a few hundred active on star forge. It's pretty dead. The raid scenes become a total joke, so most people have left on those grounds.

STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC PLAYER COUNT
Star Wars: The Old Republic server population, subscribers and game activity.
Rank 20/140 of all MMOs
RANK
20
Star Wars: The Old Republic is ranked #20 out of 140 tracked MMOs in terms of aggregate server and player population.

TOTAL PLAYERS
12.55M
Star Wars: The Old Republic is estimated to have 12,552,894 total players or subscribers.

DAILY PLAYERS
119.25K
Star Wars: The Old Republic is estimated to have 119,252 players per day this month.

Now how many are outside of steam I cannot say. But what does it matter. these numbers are from
https://mmo-population.com

And those players are spread across 6 servers.

A poll was done last year on reddit which showed that about 60% of the total players were on Steam and 40% on old client (1). Steam DB charts says there were 7,584 players in the last 30 days (2).

If 60% of the total players are Steam players, then the total player count in the last 30 days is 60/40 * 7584 = 11,376. The non-Steam players are 40% of that = 3,792.

I think there's a few reasons why existing players switched to steam. First, when the Steam version came out a lot of players switched because the old client had very slow download speeds compared to Steam. Second, some players switched to Steam just to have all their games in one place or because they liked Steam features like playtime tracking and achievements. Third, some players had problems with the old client, especially on newer computers and were advised to play on Steam instead.

As far as I've heard, the new non-Steam 64-bit client downloads as well as Steam and has worked better for some players, so there isn't much incentive to switch these days.

It's been estimated that the 'average' tends to be around 200k in a good day.

I believe there are more players than 11,376.
That was just about 900 votes.
There are probably even more players!

But thanks for your help!
