So, from your comment; I recon that I need to be a commando in order to be able to wield a Blaster Cannon, did I understand that right?
And yeah; it makes sense that a jedi doesn't run around using a pistol and I respect that not every class/subclass can use any and all weapons (it would diminish class-identity too much). But I thought maybe, just maybe there is a chance that a Vanguard or Powertech can use a blaster cannoon. If not, then I'm fine with it too. I am only asking insistently becuase it's a little difficult to find up-to-date info on the internet (game's kinda old eh) and I wanna make an informed decision before commiting to a class.
Any further opinions or clarifications would be much appreciated! Thanks again!
Weapon Proficiency: Assault Cannon is a Commando ability available for training at level 10. It allows characters to equip assault cannons.
I did read this if it helps you.
Thank you honestly :) I read exactly the same thing, but my ''test'' commando that I just created before posting here on Steam forums started the game (base trooper-campaign) with a giant .. so called ''assault cannon'' (blaster cannon) strapped to his back (and yeah, using it in combat immediatly upon starting the game) so I thought maybe that info was a little outdated, published perhaps before the latest class revamp to the game, hence asking here to learn more. Once again; nobody owes me anything, so thank you for having taken the time to look it up.
Thing is; when you been a player of a game for such a long time, the player can be both a ''legend/veteran'' but also kind of ''new'' at the same time, since live-service or MMO type of games can change greatly over 5-15 years and gamers can play the game alot, become proficient in the game, maybe take long breaks, forget stuff, learn new stuff about updates & major revamps and play again etc. rinse & repeat.
IMHO games like SWTOR is too large for any single veteran to know everything about it at once, it's simply not a realistic expectation unless the person has nothing else occupying his/her live for decades besides only one game or so.
Though.. I do wish that the info webpages on the internet were more up-to-date, that'd help alot. Most of the info about the game seems/feels ancient seems like they were last updated when I really intensely played the game.. back in 16 :D
This means that you can play for example a Trooper base class (which is now called the Origin Story) with any of the available advanced classes (which is now called the Combat Style). A Trooper is no longer limited to being either a Commando or a Vanguard, but can also pick any of the other tech Combat Styles like Sniper. That Trooper now plays exactly like a Sniper with a Sniper rifle as a their weapon and cannot use an Assault Cannon.
