strange mini map?

I remember the mini-map looking way diffrently than what i got. Is there a way to restore the old one? Did i do this? or is this some weird UI update which actually made things worse? Its not too bad but anything is so small its barely visible where im going.

I had to downscale because this thing covered most of my skills and a big chunk of other places from my screen. Thanks in advance if anyone can help out, clearing my confusion.

Ive been struggling with this aswell, I learned that its actually more useful to me but at times I also missed the old one, but you can return it quite simple.

If you look in the down-right corner, there is a button that looks like two arrows pointing at eachother, its left to the + and - button. Click that and you will get the old Mini-map back since the Arrow button lets you switch between this map and the old one. The + and - button let you zoom in and out

That one of the new maps, you can turn it off and use the original minimap, via the interface editor.
