GS:6 Copero Stronghold

It's stupid that the Copero stronghold's keys are locked behind a subscriber paywall, and F2P/Preferred are unable to unlock other parts because the expansion cost is 3m credits. Is it just me, or is this game starting to feel more and more like just another P2W MMO where you can't get anywhere unless you sub?

Well, you won´t win. But it would have been nice for the F2P/preferred to get the whole Stronghold. They also contribute to Server Population and make the Queue pop quicker for all people. So sometimes it would be nice to get something nice even for the poor masses.

Plenty of other good stuff that one gets for free. I should know, I've been a free player since before KotFE dropped. There comes a point where you need, and should, pony up for stuff. Having the brand new Stronghold behind a pay gate is not an issue.

I agree with this--up to a point; however, with the cost of... everything going up, except for wages, I cannot justify throwing money at something that doesn't do anything for me in real life. That said, this is the only stronghold I am aware of that doesn't have a means to expand at least some of the areas for less than 1m.

Before I forget to include this link (again), the answers given by the SWTOR CM is misleading: https://vulkk.com/2024/02/15/why-fully-unlocking-swtors-copero-stronghold-will-cost-real-money/ (as everyone knows, F2P and Preferred players cannot carry more than 1m credits).

Because you have to be a subscriber and grind to unlock the stronghold key rewards or spend Cartel Coins (CC) to unlock the Galactic Season rewards faster. If you don't have enough CC to unlock the tiers and too lazy/don't have time to grind before the season ends in late July, you basically have to spend more IRL money at the game anyway.

Not really. Some strongholds have hidden achievements in them (such as Rishi's and Alderaan's for example).

Well, there you go then. Practical thinking. And just because you don't want to pay, doesn't mean that BS should just give it away for free. That is not practical business sense.

Pretty much. I have the first couple that they gave away for free, or for a credit or what have you back in the day. Tossed all the necessities in the first room, and I'm good to go without ever having to run back and forth to Fleet.

You're right. It's not. It takes money to keep a business running. Like I said, however, what the game's CM said about it is misleading.

That's not what P2W is since it doesn't affect PvP at all.

I've only ever played this game as sub, as with all other MMOs.
