Slow client download SOLVED

Hi there,

Decided to return to SWTOR, but the game downloads soooo slowly, 1 Mbyte/s. Is there any way to increase the download speed?

Upd: after 4 hours, I've downloaded approx. 10% of the game client...

UPD2: got back home, was annoyed to see that I've got only 10% of the game downloaded... and I found a solution:
1. Launch an SWTOR launcher from its folder, once installed a launcher either from Steam or directly from SWTOR website. Let the Launcher perform a quick self-patching (ESSENTIAL!!!).
Once it starts downloading the assets, close the launcher.
1. Right-click on SWTOR Launcher shortcut-> Open file location folder.
2. Open with Notepad a file named launcher.settings.
3. Find a string named , "P2PEnabled": "false" - change false to true.
4. Save the file, start SWTOR launcher.
5. PROFIT! Instead of 1,5 Mbyte/s maximum, I've got 4 Mbyte/s.

Consider this as success.

Same here, mine is at least running more around 13 Mbs, but my internet is 400Mbs so they are limiting pretty hard core.

I read on other game forums (ESO for example) that STEAM actually throttles downloads. I use to max 800 kb/s with an old quad processor upgraded to an i7 3rd gen and get 1.5-2.0 depending on time of day.

Nothing to do with Steam. Try the official installer if you must - that one does not depends on Steam and does not download from Steam. You will find it is not faster. Game download server is throttled.

Sounds more like a provider problem with your internet. My DL speeds made a full dl of the game (expansions included and all updates) happen in an hour or so, and that was without an ethernet chord.

Mine went pretty smoothly too, under 45min. Good internet provider.
