Constant disconnects?
I have it since i started playing this game again a couple weeks ago. The game would just disconnect me from the server every now and then. Just a short kick and i can immediately rejoin. Quite annoying though, but it started rather mild with disconnections every two hours but now starts to disconnect every 30 minutes.

I looked it up and it seems to be a problem known for years now, but no real solution it seems. Still cant be that often, when there is no thread about it on the first steam forum page. So my question is, does anyone else experience this?

Sounds annoying, yes.

Are you on wifi? I used to have it on my laptop until I plugged a cable in. On my PC I very rarely have DC's, as in once a week or month or so.

Yeah i have wifi and i realize that this may be the problem, but since i didnt had these problems with the same wifi a couple years ago with this game and since i can play WoW without problems, i believe that the wifi is not the only problem.

I keep disconnecting. I don't understand why.

If it is a problem that is gone when you plug directly into your modem, without it connected to anything else, it is a local problem. Try that first.

On Satale Shen my connection is stable enough that I can play for many hours, even when I sit on the opposite side of the world. Disconnect is a very rare event that happen once every hundred hours or two.

I used to have regular lag spike and disconnect, though. It affected everything so I tracked it to the router, and then to an incompatibility between it and the cable modem. I switched off UPnP and the hiccups are gone. Wifi is similar, except there are more parts, and interferences are out of your control.

Plugged in or on wifi , you'll still get 4 digit ping spikes an disconnects..and this your.sheepy guy sounds ALOT like the customer service drones that'll answer your customer service ticket - "Its on YOUR end. *cough* *cough* " which if prob bullsh*t if none of your other games or apps have the same problem...
I mean, crazy right? SWTOR is the ONLY game or app on your PC that does this???
Yeah, yeah, and its on our end...

It's not magic. There can be situations when only one app on pc is not working as intended. Be it system configuration or ISP having specific problem. I didn't have one disconnect in month that I couldn't account reason to

I've had my own fight with people who blame lag on local end, because I've always said the server lags when stressed. The difference here is disconnect. I also stated in the first paragraph how to test whether it is local network issue.

If you have such a strong feeling despite them... perhaps may be you have some other experience, insight, or solutions that you can share too?

I have been having this happen on my desktop computer for just about one month, and never had so many frequent disconnects before. I am on wifi, but I can use my laptop to play, on the same wifi, and have not had any disconnect issues. I'm sure it is a setting on my desktop, but since I haven't actively changed any settings or firewall controls, I'm not sure where to start looking for a solution.

I'd start by calling your ISP
