LOL i LOVE Kira. *Best companion so far*

now i have been playing this game since Rise of the Hut Cartel and let me just say that i have not seen another companion that's better then Kira. i absolutely love her joking and sarcastic personality. what got me to wright this just now? well im currently doing a Star Fortress run as Kira as my active companion and i clicked on her by accident trying to loot some enemies and she seas one of the BEST lines ever "If you merge Hoth together with Tatooine would you get a decent planet with nice weather?" that right there made my night. her, Jaesa, and Vette are my 3 favorites but i love Kira for her jokes and sarcasm :D


Just a side note but my Knight is romanced with Kira :)
i sadly had to do it MUCH later cause my knight is also a female

at my lvl 13 my Kira is only rank 1 and thinking on sending her to healer school or let her do some scavenging for awhile. At this point my droid is my best friend. (M3Gand)

you can raise your companion's effectiveness in different ways.
one way is by giving gifts to them. i have a guide on the best gifts to give to certain companions. it helps a lot to know what will give the higher renown
another is by talking to them before you start the KOTET expansion and doing quests wile they are active but try to pick the choices they will approve of. youll get a higher renown with them then :)
one other way is to increase your Presence stat.
you can find the best guides for this if you Google it or in my case use Edge

now what is strange is that yesterday my companion was lvl 1, only played one mission then logged out. Today she shows to be lvl 14 at my level. Not even going to try to understand that one.

companions have a level that scales with you depending on the zone, as that also scales with you, and their rank. the rank is leveled up via gifts, conversation choices etc.

two seperate things :)

even though your companion lvls with you, you can still check their ranking and make it better by the means that we just mentioned

so far havent received very many companion gifts so prob wont get much of those till later and choices i make are always on the positive side, will just take some time down the road.

you can get more gifts by crafting them or buying them too. some daily gifts will drop them also :) there is a person on the fleet and on Odessen that sells them. im not going to spoil any thing but you can get companion gifts for free on Odessen after you become a lvl 61 and getting those supply crates by doing heroics and other things. hand them in for some top ranking gifts and other cool stuff too

There's a companion gift that makes your chosen companion to Rank 50 Influence in one mouse click from a Conquest vendor in your faction's fleet (Supply section, I believe). It's exactly the same as the item in the Cartel Market.

It costs a Dark Project (crafted) and a few millions of in-game credits (requires subscription to have more than 1Million credits on hand). Quite expensive but instant Rank 50.

I personally think it's cheaper to buy from the companion gift vendors in Fleet up to Rank 40 then send them to perform Crew Skills missions, even though that process takes quite a bit of time and mouse clicking.

hmmm interesting. i had no idea there was a one shot Rank 50 gift. im not sure why the game has something that sounds like its more trouble then its worth though. im completely fine with the supply crates :)
