Tiny texts and general UI
So I got a new comp and upgraded monitor. So everything is small. My resolution is 3840x2160. I saw on an old forum post that you can right click on the launcher and configure the settings, but that didn't work for me. And now my game won't even launch when i uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I don't know what to do from here. Go play WoW? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Go to UI and set scaling to higher point. Its inside the game and create one and then assign it to each of your characters.

Its under Preferences in game by the way. Can google and get step by step.
Google and delete WoW. Too much to type out here.

I did the whole in game UI and yes, eveything gets bigger but the texts stay the same tiny scale. "delete WoW" that was funny. But i'll look deeper into it. Thanks

Text gets larger with global scale.

Some text is just small by design. If you want subtitles larger click on the box and scale it up. Google it. It is not hard.

Alrighty. I been googling stuff. And I'm well aware of the UI settings. Only thing I need to figure now is how to run my game. I get stuck on loading screen but I don't see or hear anything loading. But I'm googling that too so don't worry. Thanks for your replies. Have a nice day.

There is a ton of threads here on launcher not working.

Update: this is fixed. My launcher is still minuscule but someone Reddit actually worked with in fixing the problem and the game runs fine now on my 4k monitor. Thank you for all your responses.
Man. I don't have a 4k monitor but I did try DSR and had the same problem with the suuuuper tiny UI. You can fix this by tweaking the UI xml files. If you are using one of the default layouts, open the interface editor and save a copy of it under a new name. All player-created UI layouts appear in:

%localappdata%\SWTOR\swtor\settings\GUIProfiles.

Open your UI layout in a text editor. I prefer notepad++ or something. Find "<GlobalScale Type="3" Value=" and enter a value. Multiply whatever that value is by 2 as a starting point and save. You can do this while logged into the game, just re-select the UI from the + menu on your mainbar to see it update.

Easier done in game.
So i found a fix for the launcher being really tiny, and i know i can tweak the UI in game, but the menu and charecter select screen is so small i cant read any of it. The screen edges and the ship and charecter load right, text is too small. Only UI setting available to me in that screen is the auto skip movies toggle

When the cutscene starts (after the opening crawl cutscene finishes) you can hit ESC to cancel out of it (you can start it again later). Once you see your character in the world, you can hit ESC again to bring up the Main Menu. Change Global UI Scale in the Interface Editor. Once things are good, just right-click the nearby NPC with the Purple Mission icon to re-start the cutscene.
