I'm somewhat new to the game? I mean I've put quite a few hours into the game already but i just recently got around to do Kotfe and kotet, and ive played through the first 15 or however chapters actually romancing Lana and getting that cantina scene, but then I took a small break and just did other stuff since it got quite boring rushing through so much story, a week or 2 after I resumed and continued the Kotet, now I didnt really pay too much attention to the whole flirt with Lana since you barely get to spend any time with her in kotet, at least not until mission 7.

Thats when I remembered that there was supposed to be a flirt scene that I've seen on youtube a while back, dont even remember why or when I watched it but that doesn't matter. So I looked it up and found out that Lanas romance is indeed bugged and that a patch might erase all your romance progress. I guess there was a patch or something that I missed or forgot about?
Now I'm curious about something if anyone can confirm it so I don't have to waste time if it doesn't work?

According to a post made 3 years ago, if you do suffer from this bug, that you can replay the 1-9 chapters of kotfe that you can "re-romance" Lana and basically fix this mess? I'm curious if it will work if I have already progressed as far as kotet chapter 7 or am I actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now? Any sort of help or information would be appreciated.

Replaying KotFE chapters won't help, it doesn't reset romance progress. Haven't heard of, or experiences, said bug, so dunno for sure, but I don't think there was smth crashing Lana's romance.

While there is indeed no quality time with Lana during KotET, there are some changes in dialogues with her when she's romanced, e.g. end of ch2 (when Lorman inadvertently sets holocom contact between two of you), ch5 (when providing cover for others inside a tank). There is indeed a flirt option with her in ch7 when you reach the compound. Next sign is in chapter 9 - if Lana doesn't come to you right after mission startup on Gravestone bridge, she isn't romanced by that character. If that actually happens, I think the only option to re-romance her is to replay from KotFE with a character which hasn't completed it yet (whether new or already existing). You can also try contacting tech support, but I doubt they'd help here.

Well something must have happened that reset it since I never got the option to flirt in chapter 2, I got a completely different choice there, and same in 7.
I was thinking of contacting the support as well.

It's kinda strange since, I don't know if this actually matters but, I let Arcann live and that choice seems to work fine (not sure if he survives no matter what you pick, this is my first time playing through kotfe and kotet) and other choices like, telling Lana about being possessed. It even says that in the "interactions" tab as well as other choices that I made with other characters. It's just the romance that seems to have reset.

I didn't look through any guides when I was playing through, but after that I took a quick peak and mostly, It seems like I've flirted with her on every occasion and like I said, I got the "I need to talk to one of you" flirt option in the cantina scene.

Either way thanks for the reply, really appreciate it, gonna save myself some time and contact support see if they can help me. Kinda makes me not even wanna continue playing through the rest of the expansion.. but at the same time I want my companions back.

I remember something about Devs adding some sort of droid NPC on Odessen whose purpose was to debug Lana romance via conversation with it. I think I even saw it once though I don't really remember romancing Lana

Might want to look that up. I personally never cared about romance in any game so I wouldn't know if that droid actually helps with anything

Well I looked it up and supposedly the droid does help with that stuff, however I don't see it.
I'm not sure when it supposed to pop up but its apparently an alliance alert. I would guess it pops up after you're done with Kotet but at that point I would've already missed the uh, marriage or whatever? I know something important happens in chapter 9 with her romance.

Apparently it can even break after kotet as well. I'll wait for a reply from the support but I have a feeling it'll be a while before the reply

So I got a reply from the support after a while, in essence he said that its a common thing where people skip/miss 1 flirt option along the way and it completely kills the romance.. I know for a fact I selected every possible flirt option with the classic *hit escape and try another dialogue option*
Not only that, but after I went through some guides and checked if I did miss any by some accident and nope, I missed no options except for the ones that never showed up in chapter 2.. so that made chapter 7 also never appear.

I checked out that droid Aluvian mentioned and apparently it was added as a "record keeping" npc which would basically fix the issue if the romance interaction was ever wiped out. Basically a ingame hotfix for the bug, that apparently according to the customer service person I talked to, has never been "proved" to be a bug...
Okay... then why add a droid that fixes this "bug"... I mean issue.
Or did I get it wrong? It's not a bug to get basically 10 chapters of interaction with a character wiped, its a "feature"?

I guess to ensure the content saves is to do the entire kotfe and kotet in 1 sitting and make sure there are no patches incoming between the 2 expansions otherwise you'll get hit by this amazing "feature" where hours of gameplay has potentially vanished with no way of fixing it.

I think that guy was new to his job or something lol, because him saying "It hasnt been proved to be a bug" is ABSOLUTELY him implying its a feature. and well, its not. Although, to be fair, there has been quite a few instances where the dev team and the support team do the OPPOSITE of working together, so i wouldnt be surprised if he straight up thought it was a feature lmao

Yeah i just found it both funny and unbelievable that he even said that!
"If you truly believe it's a "bug", you can type the command /bug while in game and contact our programmers- etc, etc." not gonna write the whole sentence. But yeah.. I had a feeling he might be new or maybe even trolling me.
Sadly, I'm not going to get my progress back I don't think so. Which sucks since now I have a bad first impression of my first playthrough even tho kotfe and kotet were very good expansions!

Welcome to the club... I was actually one of the ones affected by the bugged fix for the bug.

I was affected by the bug on the first Sorc I ever took through KotFE, right around the time the devs finally noticed that the community was right about there being a bug.

Then they issued the fix in the form of some NPC that'd be able to patch the relationship but that would be only visible/interactable for characters who had previously been affected by that bug.

So I logged into my Sorc full of hope and guess what: no bloody NPC anywhere in sight at the Cantina on Odessen.

Wrote to support, as a subscriber at that time, and got the same bu.ll.sh.it surprise that you got more or less, pretty much telling me that what I was describing were impossible and that it somehow all were my fault, because they "fixed" it already...

That's SWTOR customer service in a nutshell.
