Do i need sub ?

Hi i see game is freetoplay can i play it at all if i dont have sub active ? Or is this sub like ESO has that gives some bonuses but is not necessary. Thanks all

There are some restrictions but not a lot.
There's 8 classes to play for free all with a completely unique story and gameplay up till level.... 60 i believe?
A subscription isn't needed to enjoy the story, if you enjoy the game and wanna continue sub once for a month and unlock all current content for free, forever.

As a freebie or preffie you have 10 PvP matches a week per character and you can't do Operatives (raids) and a 1 million credit cap.

Okey thanks i will test it out and if i like it will sub :) desperately need a mmo to play and this is one i havent tested yet.

If you like star wars there's a 99% chance you'll love this.
As an mmorpg it's a great game, there's a lot of negativity going around lately because of the latest update which sounds a lot more scary than it is.
The first 50 or so levels are great on any class!

As far as i've seen here on the forums, Pvp isn't done very well. It does have Ranked pvp but I think only for those with subs.

Free and Premium players can only do unranked Pvp.

I'm thinking that if you're only coming here for the Pvp, you'll be disappointed. Like many games it's a PvE game with Pvp just tacked on.

you have to sub if you want to play ranked (after reaching max lvl) and like any game with classes and item progression it's unbalanced

the PVP isn't "tacked" on it used to be great, way better then WoW PVP at least
i played wow PVP for like 3 years and SWTOR PVP until the patch that broke the servers (2years+, from release into rise of the hutt cartel) and made all PVP even the small 4v4 arenas laggy af, the lag has been solved since but i'm not sub'd anymore and only lvl 70 so i can't say much about PVP today (except i played like 20-30 matches the past month with my mediocre equiped vl 70 smuggler heal and have 100% win rate, lol)
