Can I change my "display name"?

I'm not sure if the display name is what other players see as the name of my characters or not, but if so I would really like to change my display name.

I went to "My Account" but I didn't see an option to do it

If you mean your individual character's name, then you can only change that with a Cartel Market Token that you'd need to buy.

Same for your Legacy's name.

If you mean your account login username (DO NOT SHARE IT!) then you can change that one at SWTOR.com, but other players do not see it ingame anyways, and on the SWTOR forums you can pick a nickname anyways.

You yourself cannot change the display name, this is permanent and can only be changed by support and only when you have a valid reason (like your real name in the display name) and you cannot setup a nickname for your forums post, it will always be your display name.

You might mix that up with Steam, however for SWTOR its a bit different.

Maybe they changed the way that works then... I've been with SWTOR since the U.S. closed beta, and at least some time around back then we could freely choose a nickname for the forums that wasn't the same as our account login.

They never updated, you couldnt change it even in beta days. That was a permanent name.
