People are saying the expansion is short I couldn't care less about the "story" your choices don't matter your alignment doesn't matter who you are and what you've done doesn't matter or factor in in the slighest its a generic path being stretched out for as long as they can.
everyone went to Elden Ring. Top game being played right now per steam stats. Been top 5 consistently since launch.
By the numbers, SWTOR is getting its ass handed to it by Football Manager 2021. This ain't MMO numbers, we are venturing into single-player territory. So as an MMO, SWTOR is most definitely in hospice, just waiting for the sweet release of death.
The game play is only " bad" to you because you're trying to play it on a controller.
I also left. 6 Month later i came back and what happend ?
Most ppl returned because this game was unique. (And still is.)
So you hate the Update ? See you in 6 Month.
Need a alternative to SWTOR ? Check out Star Wars Galaxies LEGENDS.
NGE literally killed SWG though....
Then check out Restoration 3.
SWG is no longer officially supported. I don't really care about private servers, especially one that's running the CU version which is the most criticized update for SWG.
SWG was a trash game made worse by NGE and CU. Even if SWTOR never happened that game was shutting down that year because it just had no one playing it anymore on top of their license with LucasArts ending.
ok
Also, yes, SWG was losing subscribers but by the time of the shutdown, it was no different than the usual amount any MMO loses. The population by then (2011) had obviously stabilized after the fallout from the NGE (which was in 2005). SWG had more than enough of an active playerbase to justify staying online. Like I just said, there are a number of MMOs on the market today with fewer players than the SWG private servers, a "trash" game that people still apparently want to play in droves.
It's been stated in a number of interviews/articles with those in charge that LucasArts decided not to renew their contract with SOE, ending support for SWG, specifically in favor of SWTOR. They didn't want to split the playerbase between two online Star Wars games. There was no other reason... That's it. It had nothing to do with subscribers or population. Had that been the case, the plug would have been pulled in 2006 when the population was actually dwindling. So no, SWG wouldn't have been shut down that same year if there wasn't a SWTOR. SWTOR was the sole cause.
Guess what? The same thing is going to happen to SWTOR in favor of the new Ubisoft online Star Wars game (whatever kind of online game/MMO that may be) when it releases too, and it will be for the exact same reason - not splitting the playerbase between two online Star Wars games.
