Oh. Sounds close enough! I will try that!
Same with the tech side. If you wanted to play the trooper story, but you wanted him to be a sniper you can choose the sniper class.
There is no mixing and matching of the advanced classes or their abilities because that would outright break the game. A sorc will never be able to use a double bladed lightsaber. If you want a double bladed saber you need to play either shadow or assassin.
I wasnt talking about mixing real abilities. Rather to keep all sorcerer abilities, and just give him double bladed or two sabers. Damage will be the same, thing is about feeling, immersion. Just visual stunt actually, without changing anything in game.
They can't do that because of how animations are tied to weapon types.
Yea, thats exactly why they can do that. If animations are tied to weapon types, just let people use any type of weapon they want as a transmog. Dont change damage or stats, just looks, along with animations. No problem here.
Again....this wouldn't work. Abilities have unique animations that are tied directly to the weapon. They would have to redo dozens of animations to do what you want to do. It would also destroy any semblance of class recognition so in general I'm completely against the idea.
Again... This would work. Because creating lightning with sorcerer works exactly the same, no matter the weapon. Just think. Guy puts his right hand up, and makes a lightning, and he holds lightsaber with left one. Why does it make any difference? Well, it doesnt.
Also, class recognition? Really. It already looks like there is no class recognition. AAAAAAND, in Star Wars, there were all sorts of force users. And people could fight the way the want. There were no fucin rules about fighting like, if you use double bladed, you cant use the force too often. wtf
Voltic slash, assassinate, lacerate, low slash, severing slash, reaping strike......all of those would have to have their animations completely redone for combinations of single blade or dual wielding and that's just one class.
Sorcs are a bit unique in that they don't really use their weapon, but this simply doesn't apply across the board. They would have to recode and change a ton of animations and would likely break a lot of things. Also, a sorc holding a saber staff would just look dumb. If you wanna use a staff then just make a damn assassin.
Well, I could argue, that along with weapon could also come just other classes animations, so it would suit it... But no matter. I wont get what I want anyway :D
You are probably right. But since 2011 I wish for that sparky double bladed warrior... I guess I will have to wait till next game.
This doesn't make any sense. They are just objects. Being able to wield any weapon the game would look infinitely more cool and less dumb than restricting to a certain weapon. The restrictions are dumb, because they are less without reason.
Animations can be made. Abilities can be adapted and created. What's dumb is this game manages to have years of updates with no upGRADES.
