Sorcs are a ranged class. They never use their weapon. Having them equip a saber staff would look ridiculous.
with that attitude, having them have a lightsaber at all is ridiculous.
What's ridiculous is that here's a whole force class that doesn't integrate the iconic weapon, based on 2 mins of emperor zappy zap screentime.
This is an mmo. Classes have to be defined. If you wanna use a staff then make an assassin, end of story. It's never going to change.
Nah it's not a universal mmo thing. It's just a ♥♥♥♥ ty mmo thing. lots of mmos don't have class weapon restrictions. Again this is your attitude, even close to an opinion, but it doesn't make it smart, cool or reasonable.
Sorcs dont go in and swing their lightsabers at the bad guys but they do hold their lightsaber in their hand for a lot of their casting animations.

Just a minor detail but the name of the class story is Inquisitor. Sorcerer and Assassin are the names of the combat skill sets which of course used to be called "advanced classes" for the Inquisitor. IE. Sith Warrior = Sith Marauder & Sith Juggernaut and Jedi Knight = Jedi Sentinel & Jedi Guardian and so on.
Every MMO has weapon limitations. Most classes are only optimal with 1 or 2 weapon types.
