You realize that FF14 is also F2P until lvl 60 and also includes the first expansion for free?
And looks can be extremely subjective. While FF14 might be very dazzling and straight up better on a technical level, I find that the devs use far too many glaring candy cotton color effects in the world and especially for the abilities. I have to admit though that I never really was into the typical JRPG art style.
Star Trek Online was actually a decent comparison but not for the graphics. It's actually a pretty unique game because of the focus on space battles which is rare for a mmo beside EVE but I'm not really into the lore.
It's actually a pretty good time for MMO, lots of decent to great F2P or with good trials MMO with SWtOR, ESO, STO, FFXIV and others depending on your taste.
