Agreed 100%.
None of this is helped by the fact that the male JC x nadia romance feels really weird and the male consular has one of the worst voice acting in the game imho
Nolan North is a really good voice actor, but the role given to him doesn't do his acting any justice.
At some point you should do all class stories but for me I would do the knight story first over the consular one.
PS: I main a guardian in SWTOR so I am a bit prone to say it. It is just one of my favourites. Consular, well if you read articles online about it, those have some point of truth to it.
2 words: Imperial Agent, hands down one of the better ones too
Jedi Knight - plays just like Obi-Wan Kenobi's story in Episodes 1, 2, and 3. The player Jedi Knight concludes what Revan and the Exile started in KOTOR 1 and 2. The typical Star Wars story.
Consular/Sage - plays somewhat like Yoda in Clone Wars doing diplomacy while rooting out evil (dark side corruption) in the universe
Trooper - the typical generic grunt who quickly climbs the Ranks to lead an elite squad of specialists (no Jedi companion in original story)
Smuggler - to state the obvious, it plays just like Han Solo (especially in the beginning). Missions range from infiltration and espionage for the Republic to seeking personal revenge while evading crazy and angry ex-lovers lol
Sith Warrior - plays just like Darth Vader after Order 66 on becoming the Emperor's Wrath (One who hunts down and murders whoever the emperor wanted dead)
Sith Inquisitor - you play through the intricacies of Sith politics ... you seek evidence or use rhetoric so you can challenge and kill one of them in order to take his or her place in the High Council while the rest of the Sith Lords watch.
Bounty Hunter - plays just like Bobba Fett, typical bounty hunter who's just trying to make a name for himself like the father-figure before him
Imperial Agent - it's an Imperial Spy. Missions are mainly infiltrate and sabotage or sometimes assassinate high value targets.
-Plotine wise the Jedi Knight Class story is considered the continuation of the KOTOR series (Bioware has said as much over the years) whereas the Jedi Consular has one of the less influential and overall slow paced class storylines in the game.
-Gameplay wise: If you want to play as a tank you can choose the Jedi Guardian (Knight) or the Jedi Shadow (Consular) while if you want to play as a healer you have to choose the Jedi Sage (Consular). Now for the DPS classes, if you're more interested in the warrior class then choose the Jedi Sentinel (Knight) but keep in mind that Guardians have two DPS specs as well (Vigilance is the preferred one) so choose Guardian if you want to have your options open (sentinels wield two lightsabers and have much more dps than guardians but their gameplay is similar).
Ranged DPS wise the Jedi Sage (Consular) is the way to go if you want to play as a sorcerer (the story may be slow but the gameplay is really fun) and finally if you prefer to play as a rogue choose the Jedi Shadow (Consular) who can also tank.
Keep in mind that you can't change your class in-game so think carefully about which role you're interested in (you can only change your spec within the class).
Yes, that is a good assessement :)
However, the trooper story is much more than anyone will give it credit for. Its much more than the typical soldier in the front lines. I compare it to the story of Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect trilogy as it is very similar. You go from an unknown soldier doing missions for somebody else to a decorated war hero and the best the Republic has to offer (in the case of Shepard, humanity has to offer). This is why I think the trooper story is very underrated and I enjoy it so much
PS: Also you continue to do missions for someone with a higher rank to you during the vanilla trooper story arc. I dunno if it was intended to be a Mass Effect like story (as the voice of fem trooper is the same voice of fem Shep). But I find its enjoyment in seeing it as such. So everyone who enjoys Mass Effect might enjoy it more if you see it that way too :)
