Don't expect any new expansions for SWTOR in the future

Long years SWTOR player here (not on steam);

SWTOR has entered Maintenance mode with Onslaught, means there will be little to no big updates in the future. The show seems to be over. We'll get 1 new story mainquest each year and that's about it.

It becomes apparent in the way that Bioware presents mini-features as big updates that they've worked on for months.

Then they added this "login reward system", which is another alarming indicator that Bioware just wants to push some numbers (daily indiviual account logins) and are desperate to keep bored and disappointed players in the game.

If you ask Bioware employees/support about it, they dodge the question. Ontop of not providing a developer-roadmap anymore.

Propably EA did not make enough money with KOTFE/KOTET despite investing big cash into the developement. So now they are deeming SWTOR to be more or less unprofitable, (especially when they have FIFA as their #1 cash cow) and avoid financing any larger expansion.

-Do all 8 classes stories as a free player.
-Purchase the $15 sub for one month (non-reoccurring) and do the dlc on your main.

Bruh I had all 8 class stories finished and my legacy level on 50 before the dark vs. light event many years ago, and then they fcked me over because my account already had legacy level 50 and I could not get master Ranos or darth Hexid as companions. Their support answer was: you can make a new account and play through all the class stories again. Yeah no, ♥♥♥♥ you Bioware.

Doesn't mean I don't recommend SWTOR for new players; I think everyone should atleast play the original content (from the good old days when Bioware was still Bioware) and play through the class stories.

But for players like me, who've seen it all, this game holds no more big birthday cakes to look forward too.

The main story is basically done, chewed through, spit up again, eaten again and now beeing sharted out while beeing sold as "diet coke".

Dude, the dark vs light event didn't required you to reach legacy level 50. Only level 50 with each base class created DURING the event, you're straight up wrong or lying in order to make Bioware look bad because you're salty.

If you've seen it all, played it all, stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and go look for something that is actually fun for you.

Funnily enough they just revealed the upcoming Galactic Seasons update, which will give us a vendor for old subscriber and achievement rewards for anyone who missed them. On the PTS you can already find Master Ranos hanging out with Paxton Rall, Nico Okarr and Shae Vizla, so everyone will be able to get them again by earning Galactic Seasons token.

Yeah no, I'm not gonna waste time and money farming "Galactic Season Tokens" when there is little to no new content on the horizon. It's a cheap trick where they are trying to keep the players in the game. That wouldn't even be necessary, if they'd just worked on some big update instead, so we would atleast know that there is something to look forward to in this game.

In theory, it can't. Practically, there's 1 month a year worth of considering resubbing for a month, just to play that 1 chapter through with some various characters, be done with it, and have 2X days of subscription time remaining that propably go by unplayed.

I mean, this just isn't true, they're going to be doing a new flashpoint as a continuation from Onslaught and then there's rumoured to be a reasonably big one later in the year to celebrate 10 years. So yeah, there's still going to be plenty of expansions happening

Ok, where is this game ending? Why bother WRITE a post like that when they add TONS of stuff all the time? Shure, in terms of MAJOR STORY, its over. They literarely CANT do anything anymore without DISNEY being angry at them. This here game is SET IN LEGENDS, not CANON teritory (especiel considering that we can face a PROPER Krayt Dragon in this here game too, it was cool in mando, dont get me wrong, but it was fail from disney. Why invent something new when its already EXISTEND ? Next they "nerf" the sarlacc pitt from gargantuan size to SMALL) Same for the spiders in Rebels. THOSE THINGS ARE TREE'S NOT SPIDERS! LEARN FACTS FROM BACK WHEN EMPEROR LUCAS DID WRITE IT ALL DOWN IN LORE!

So, where was i? Oh right : SWTOR has hit its limit storywise, yet not contentwise. I still pray for the proper Luke saber and the proper and named Younglingslayer 9000.

I think SWTOR needs a complete overhaul.
I mean......it is still fun to play but it's dated compared to some of the stuff coming out these days. Of course, Everquest has been around for centuries and people STILL play that crap.
