Rejoin the empire or stay alliance commander?

I'm at the point where I need to choose whether to rejoin the empire or stay the alliance commander. I have married Lana Baneko and am not sure witch choice will make her the happiest can anyone help me out with this please.

Outside of immersion/roleplaying aspects, the only thing so far that is really affected by this decision is what your Commander is being called/referred to in dialogues.

If you rejoin the Empire, you get a choice to keep being called "Commander", or to reclaim your Imperial Title, i.e. for a Sith that would be "Lord Wrath" or "Darth Nox" respectively.

If you stay independent, you simply do not get such a choice and you will continue to be referred to as "The Commander".

It is possible that this choice will eventually carry more/any real weight, but currently, that's all there is.

So far in the story she'll stay loyal to you regardless of your choice.

Lana stays with you no matter what (definite waifu sign). IIRC, though, she is more positive about joining Empire than joining Republic (probably since she's quite familiar with bureaucratic nuances of Empire and how to bypass them). Other than that it's two-way street either way. If you stay independent, you have more freedom, but less resources at your disposal, and vice versa if you join either faction.
