Steam vs Launcher
Is there an advantage to launching the SWTOR launcher through Steam rather than just launching the SWTOR launcher from the icon on my desktop? What's the difference? Is it just so Steam can keep track of how many hours you have played? Is it just so you can delete that icon on your desktop and have it in the Steam client instead?

if you use the normal launcher you will have the streaming one and in order to change to the non-streaming one you are going to have to go through a few hoops and re-download the whole game.

Steam launcher does not use the streaming one thus its preferred.

If you want to know what i am talking about then you can google it, there's lots of information about it. Also the streaming launcher installs bitraider and you are forced to use it.

Thanks, I definitely didn't know about the streaming aspect of it. I'll read up on it.

Would love to tell more but honestly i am bad at explaining so its better if your found out yourself or if someone who is better at explaining things tells you.

All i can say is that you should use Steam version over the original launcher.

Per my own experiences the streaming launcher could get stuck at 99% for nearly hours when it come to updating things, it could verify files out of nowhere and take its time.. pretty sure there are more but i cant remember well.

Anyway, Steam version installs the non-streaming launcher which is much better and DOES NOT have these issues.

Will my character transfer over? Is it as easy as just signing in?
