Pink Screen

I have tried everything I could find, why is the pink screen of death persisting???
I read one suggestion to window mode it but how can I window mode the game if I can't see anything because of the pink screen?

The only time i have seen pink screens is when i had a bad gpu and when i over heated.

I run a GTX 1060, it runs everything else perfectly fine at top specs.

If you alt-tab while launching the game it will cause the pink screen. Something to do with when you alt-tab while it's launching causes the game to lose focus of the window and bug out.

Windowed mode would work.

You're either missing some assets (in that case: Repair the game - start launcher, log in, click the cog and select Repair) or you have some driver issue.
You can adjust the client_settings.ini (found in the hidden user folder ../Appdata/Local/SWTOR/swtor/settings/ ), put FullScreen and D3DFullScreen on false. Also adjust Height and Width to the native resolution of your screen, while you're at it.

That should do the trick.

I am reinstalling it right now and will try this trick once it is done! I know it is not the alt-tab problem because I don't touch it until it's launched.

The only time this has ever happened to me is when I alt-tabbed (or a UAC window or something popped up) while launching the game in fullscreen mode. I solved it by either waiting until the music begins to play to tab out, or switching to fullscreen windowed.

To switch between windowed and fullscreen on this and many (though not all) games, alt-enter.
