What are a good light side class?
My first character was a dark side female inquisitor, assassin i think (not sorcerer), and while the inquisitor story sucks most of the time she was so much fun. Being extremely psychopathic, lightning fools whenever she felt like it, being sarcastic all the time. Now i'm playing a male commando, and he's the opposite. His story is much better but he's so boring, all Sir yes Sir with no personality. Which characters are fun as a light side, and someone else is better as a dark side than the inquisitor?

Jedi Knight is a very pure heroic star wars story if that's what you're looking for. Very well written parts with some genuine surprises too. Smuggler story is also cool, really funny. I played mine selfishly and sarcastically and I still ended up pretty light sided in the end

Every class is fun in dark side i tried them all. Light side mode is boring, force you to do chores you don't have to if you just threaten/torture the npc

What are you looking for in a light side story?

Jedi Consular story is about healing others and "uniting the clans" against the Empire.
Jedi Knight story is about being the savior of the galaxy and fighting the greatest evils.
Smuggler is about treasure hunting and getting rich - light side is a robin hood type (steal from rich and give to the poor or support the Republic war effort with your wealth)
You already know the Trooper story.

Many people find the light side stories boring because you are being good like you probably do in real life. For a lot of people it's more fun to do something they can't do in real life, which is the dark side route.

i'm talking about light side options, not necessarily on the republic side. from what i hear, imperial agent has some good choices there. it's just that, from those i played, light side personality is just boring, while dark side is more fun.

Found LS Bounty Hunter (with Mako of course) as pretty-good role-play. Didn't start other Empire characters as LS, will try later.

No more so than a DS Jedi. I've always looked at sides of the Force as a more extreme representation of the top level of the Dungeons & Dragons alignment system: Light Side is Lawful and Dark Side is Chaotic; Being Lawful doesn't mean you have to be Good and being Chaotic isn't always Evil. It's all about what you do with what you are.

That's what's always drawn me to the Expanded Universe over the core (movies) canon; there's a lot more room for complexities and shades of grey.

that's exactly how i explained this to my rpg-versed girlfriend. it's like in mass effect: there you're always good. the difference is how chaotic or lawful you are

Its great to see how my touch of sarcasm has led to an elaborate explanation :).

Sith warrior is pretty good when u go lightside. You basically have to fight against the empire to do anything nice but you get a lot more allies if you do, many of whom appear at surprising places

Bounty Hunter is pretty cool to play as lightside. Sith Warrior as well. Any imperial class story really is fun as lightside.

Light Side Sith Warrior is clearly a superior story and a superior (more interesting) character to the Dark Side Sith Warrior, who is basically a tool and a moron. LS Warrior is an honourable knight of the Empire, striving to reform it from within and strengthen it by removing idiotic Sith from power (really, play Agent storyline: Sith are the reason why Empire loses the war).

Dark Side Jedi Knight is a wonderful character as well. Arrogant, dripping smugness and condescending ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who completely butchers and obliterates all enemies of the Republic, which he also goes to reform from within, but in order to make it stronger by getting rid of weakness and indecisiveness which plagues the Jedi Order. Light Side Jedi Knight is a boy scout, which is beyond boring. (It also helps that voice actor for male Knight clearly enjoyed playing DS more, just listen to him having fun.)

In general these two options are best when played subversively. DS Consular and LS Inquisitor are not as fun, and other classes are fair game either way.

I don't imagine playing a DS Warrior ever, truth be told. It's just a bad, boring story.

For me, its more about the scenario you find yourself in.

My main guy is a Light Side Trooper who is willing to resort to questionable methods when he has to. Another character is a Smuggler who while leaning more towards light side, her greed, vanity and arrogance at times makes her willing to engage in questionable things as well, especially if it gets under her skin.
