unable to load application configuration

As the title says, when i hit the play button, I get the message "unable to load application configuration". I previously had Swtor on my pc before the steam version but it was deleted before hitting install on steam. Anyone have this issue ?

having it right now. no idea why. tried reinstalling and everything

for me, the issue turned out to be my VPN. Once I turned my VPN off the launcher and the game worked without issue. Don't know if you have a VPN on but that worked for me.
