Be Careful Folks, I Just Created an Account With SWTOR, and Someone changed my password.
Hi.

I made a account with SWTOR yesterday, and just tried to log back in, and and it was stolen. Someone was able to access the account just a few hours after I made it, and updated the password.

No idea how that happened, and YES my system is clean. My rig is only used for gaming on steam, and I never use the same password on sites.

Just a heads up folks. from now on I am staying away from this game.

I extremely doubt your rig is clean. Been playing swtor and never had an issue with my password being stolen. Also why would someone want your account if its a day old. you literally have nothing of value. You should of enabled security key. also if someone was able to change your account password they have access to your email. so again i highly doubt your rig is clean.

Are you sure you are not making a mistake with your password or account name? I'm pretty sure changing the password would send you at least one email to confirm it was changed.

I have an account since at least 2013 and nothing like what you describe ever happened, even when I wasn't using 2FA.
Probably one of those entitled child, playing since 2012 and never heard of this issue besides you lol.

Hi.

I made an account with SWTOR yesterday but today forgot my password so couldnt log in. Cant check my new email either as I also forgot those.

Dont understand how it happened so im going to blame someone else but it could also be that my rig has spyware on it so couldve lost it that way.

So just a heads up folks to always keep your head screwed on & stay away from idiots like me

Fixed.

Let's see...

Either, this routinely happens and nobody reports it because of ... umm... reasons, or you have spyware on your rig and just don't know it because you trust some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ AV kit that couldn't catch a cold if there was a computer equivalent of it.

Which one do you think it is?

i think its possible the site had a leak mail password being hijacked is fair common it just need time for a program to put a password right be it few minutes to over a hour(a few days).
EA leak was very old (information was found about peoples emails and passwords but they are 5-6years info , at that time I had old password changed(some one actully tried to enter but failed(a nice fu you to that person))

Key is best option to protect you account. i consider check your rig very carefully and check your task manager.

I had problems with my Ubisoft and Origin accounts some peep from vietnam wanted to hijacked them(with diff. ip)

My steam account was hijacked(and i waited for 1 whole month to get it back) (wen no mob.aut. was not a thing) i found it on also on my site someone managed to sell it for 50$
Also that person tried to claim it via support(failed badly no proof of purchases and key uses)

Just in case check your rig via taskmanager manually for keylogger(it won't be named keylogger, if you know how aither also reinstalling OS clean is most best way for such things as it cleans start from all problems)
Best way also check all folders for hidden folder strange named files in save mode
hope its just leak.

I remember back when my wow account got hacked I was at the bar getting drunk my phone started lighting up with about 10 emails I honestly just laughed about it and started telling people my accounts being hacked, rough next day though hung over AF on chat with someone from blizzard to get it resolved got everything back though, Immediately went to an authenticator never really thought about it but it was fine since then

great thread op, it's you, noone else

I have a good feeling that it's you OP, you must've added in an extra word or forgot it completely after making it which is common to people that usually rush through registering. If it's stolen, then you should send a verification to your email, and if its changed, the said "hacker" has access to your email without your knowledge.

Self error is more likely than account hacked. Leaked shared password is more likely than an unclean system, which is again more likely than nothing fishy you just get brute forced.

There is a reason the dev give you cartel coins for using 2FA. See if you can reset your accuout password with your email and, if you have any accounts that use the same password, change them immediately.
